Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings by eight wickets in IPL 2025 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh May 29. Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and opted to bowl first. Punjab Kings got off to a horror start as they lost four wickets in the powerplay for just 38 runs. Even after the powerplay, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. It was only Marcus Stoinis who looked like putting up some resistance but he was cleaned up by Suyash Sharma. Punjab Kings were bowled out for only 101 runs on the board. Josh Hazlewood (3/21), Suyash Sharma (3/17), Yash Dayal (2/26) were the highest wickets takers. Chasing it, Phil Salt (56*) powered Royal Challengers to a solid start although they lost Virat Kohli in the powerplay to Kyle Jamieson. With Rajat Patidar and Mayank Agarwal, Salt chased down the total in just 10 overs. With this win Royal Challengers Bengaluru enter the IPL 2025 final.
