Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a comfortable seven-wicket win over Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh on Sunday, April 20. Put to bat first, openers Priyansh Arya (22) and Prabhsimran Singh (33) provided Punjab Kings a good start with a 42-run opening partnership. Josh Inglis (29), Shashank Singh (31*), and Marco Jansen (25*) chipped in crucial runs as the hosts reached a fighting total of 157/6. For RCB, spinners Krunal Pandya (2/25) and Suyash Sharma (2/26) had an outstanding day with the ball. While chasing 158, Phil Salt (1) departed in the first over. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal stitched a 103-run stand for the second wicket, which took away the game from the Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings. Devdutt Padikkal departed after scoring 61 off 35 balls. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, remained unbeaten and smashed 73 off 54 deliveries. Kohli took RCB over the line in the 19th over. For PBKS, Arshdeep Singh (1/26), Harpreet Brar (1/27) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1/36) picked up wickets.
