00:00The first time I ever met him was when he was at our city council meeting, and that's when
00:26he wanted to be our police chief.
00:30And so our mayor, at the time, we discussed it, and he came in for the interview and stuff.
00:41At the time, I think most of the people, we decided we really didn't need a police chief.
00:49At the time, the mayor, he's the one that can hire and fire who he wants.
00:55So he decided that we needed one, so he hired Grant.
01:08He was always angry.
01:11He—well, I'll tell you one story.
01:14He chased a kid in his car, and he wrecked, and when he wrecked, the people in the house
01:20was going out to check on the kid.
01:22Well, Grant got out of his car and showed his gun to the people and told them to get
01:28back in the house.
01:30So I mean, you don't need anybody on your force that's going to do that.
01:34So we told Grant—we told the mayor at that time that it was time to get rid of him.
01:40So—and James was our maintenance guy at the time.
01:44And he always felt like James got rid of him, got him fired, which was not true.
01:49It was the city council's choice.
01:59I think that's what I'm angry about the most is they put him in a minimum security prison,
02:05knowing—he's not a dummy—that he could do something like this.
02:12And then I also blame the prison for—for them letting him out.
02:17Do they not have badges that they have to show?
02:20I have a badge I have to show when I go to work at school.
02:25So—and I'm sure you have a badge you have to show.
02:27So somebody failed our system.
