Farke reveals striker solutions at Leeds

00:00Leeds United head coach Daniel Farker has made clear just how he manages his strikers at the club,

00:07including Patrick Bamford, Matteo Joseph and Championship Golden Boot winner Joel Perrault

00:12and how he will continue to look after them as they head into the Premier League

00:17where they need to continue scoring as many goals as possible.

00:20When I work with my strikers here, with Joel or with Matteo or with Patrick or whoever plays in this role,

00:27yes, there is a hint here and there, but I also don't like to overdo it anyhow

00:32and it's more or less gives sometimes a bit of experience.

00:36It helps especially a bit more in the everyday work that you know.

00:40Once, for example, a striker has a bit of a dry period, it happens.

00:44It's just the fate of a striker.

00:46Then it's more like to give some confidence and not like, okay, come on,

00:51you make him even more nervous with some hints.

00:55Sometimes they just need an arm around the shoulder and it's more like, don't worry too much.

00:59You've scored goals your whole life and they will come back.

01:02So a bit of understanding how you feel or sometimes a bit of understanding how a striker like Joel feels

01:08when once I substitute him and he still has the chance for Golden Boot.

01:12And Bradford City's Richie Smallwood has spoken about being awarded several of the club's accolades

01:18at the Bantams' annual club awards.

01:21This took place just prior to the Bantams' final game of the season,

01:25which saw them win promotion with a goal in the last minute of additional time from Anthony Sarcevic.

01:32From the fans' awards to the players and to the, obviously, the player of the year,

01:39it's been really pleasing, being really proud of myself throughout the season.

01:43Yeah, it can only give you confidence, especially the one the players play.

01:47I think that's the big one, really.

01:50From your own peers, they see you day-to-day, they see how you work, see how you operate

01:53and, yeah, get respect to them is really pleasing.

01:56I think it shows they've got the faith in you as the captain of the football club as well.

01:59Yeah, I think it does do that, yeah.

02:02It makes you, maybe when you speak, they might listen and what you do,

02:07they might copy or whatever and, yeah, it's really pleasing.

02:11Hopefully, if they do that, we can keep pushing it together.
