00:01After more than a year and a half at sea, on a round-the-world voyage that began in Genoa on the 1st of July 2023

00:09and visited five continents, 30 countries and 35 ports,

00:14the Amerigo Vespucci, the Italian Navy's oldest ship, set sail from Trieste in March for an 18-stop Mediterranean tour.

00:23Dopo Civita Vecchia, la nave più bella del mondo navigherà verso Livorno e poi Genova,

00:30dove si concluderà il tour del Mediterraneo il 10 giugno in occasione della Festa della Marina.

00:36Ma cosa vuol dire fare il giro del mondo a bordo dell'Amerigo Vespucci da comandante?

00:41Un privilegio enorme, quello di compiere un'impresa unica, non capita tutti i giorni.

00:48Vespucci in 94 anni ha fatto due giri del mondo, quindi unicità dell'impresa e poi possibilità di vedere altre culture,

00:59di interfacciarsi con altre realtà, di conoscere appunto e far conoscere l'Italia nel mondo.

01:07The Amerigo Vespucci has been in service since 1931 and is still a training ship for Naval Academy officer trainees.

01:15Every summer, at the end of their first year, they come aboard for a unique experience between sailing and life at sea.

01:23Among them is the ship's current commander.
