00:00Donnie, when you look at this Eagles schedule, I mean, come on.
00:02Through the first eight weeks, what's the record?
00:04Six and two?
00:04Seven and one?
00:05Talk to me, birds.
00:07I mean, just like when the Los Angeles Dodgers entered the season,
00:10this isn't fair.
00:11Just give them the championship.
00:13It feels that way about the Philadelphia Eagles.
00:14Even though we have a salary cap in the NFL, this team is that good.
00:17But again, when you win the championship, it's not like the NBA.
00:20Like, oh, we're going to balance out every schedule, right?
00:22Or Major League Baseball.
00:24You get the toughest schedule.
00:25And sometimes it winds up with you end up with two unbelievably tough divisions
00:29and then the crossover winners of the division versus winner of division games.
00:35When I look at the Eagles schedule, yes, it is tough.
00:38But if there's a team that can go through the schedule
00:39and still wind up with double-digit victories
00:41and end up with maybe a number two or a number three seed at worst,
00:45it's this Philadelphia Eagles team, Kevin.
00:47You look at the offensive line.
00:48It's perfect.
00:48You look at the quarterback coming off with an MVP season and a championship.
00:52Dominant wide receivers.
00:53You bring the tight end back, Saquon Barkley in the backfield,
00:55and an electric defense that, yes, missed out on some parts.
00:58But those key components are still there with Vic Fangio as the defensive coordinator.
01:03I'm excited for that.
01:04Now, granted, you do have to get off to a good start,
01:07which means you play the Cowboys on opening night.
01:09That's a must-win game.
01:11Six-and-a-half, sevens out there in the atmosphere right now at different sports books.
01:14That tells you the Eagles should win, and I agree with it.
01:16But they're going to get no help with that Chiefs game right off the bat.
01:20And also, by the way, the Chiefs will be playing overseas.
01:22That'll help the Philadelphia Eagles.
01:23But if you were the Eagles, you probably would have liked them not to get that overseas game
01:26because that means they would have played on a Sunday and not a Friday,
01:29and you get the extra time built in.
01:30So it's really only like a 24-hour difference where the Eagles will play on Thursday,
01:34and then the Chiefs will play on Friday.
01:35So not that big of a difference.
01:36Rams, Buccaneers, Broncos.
01:38This will be a test.
01:39You get the best shot from everywhere.
01:40But I got to tell you, looking at the schedule, yes, it is tough.
01:43But you go game by game by game and be like, all right,
01:46the Eagles are going to be competitive in every single game.
01:48Why?
01:48Because they're good.
01:49But also, you're getting the other team's best punches.
01:51No favors were done to the Eagles.
01:53But that's what happens, Kevin, when you have the first-place schedule as the Super Bowl champions.
01:57But I want to make this point.
01:58No favors were done to Philly in terms of who they play.
02:02But you can't do favors in that capacity.
02:05This Eagles schedule is a representation why,
02:07if you're going to talk NFL futures before the schedule comes out,
02:10please do not give me opinions on those futures based on the schedule.
02:14I do not care about the list of teams they play at home
02:17and the list of teams they play at the road.
02:19The Eagles go to Kansas City.
02:21They have a rest advantage.
02:23Because even if it's a smaller one,
02:25the Chiefs play on a Friday and Philly plays on a Thursday.
02:29The Eagles go to Minnesota with a rest advantage
02:31because they're coming off of a Thursday night game against the Giants.
02:35They go to Green Bay off of their bye week.
02:38Fantastic.
02:39They go to LA off the Chargers coming off a Black Friday game.
02:43Rest advantage.
02:44That is four spots that before the year you go
02:49at Kansas City, at Minnesota, at Green Bay, at LA.
02:52Those are tough.
02:53And the Eagles now have...
02:55The Eagles, Donnie, should be at least 2-2 in those football games
02:59because the schedule broke their way rest-wise.
03:04I think it's one of the early winners, Donnie,
03:06of the actual schedule placements.
03:09I really did believe it was the Philadelphia Eagles.
03:11And you know where I go right away when the schedule release comes out?
03:14Who has that road Thursday night game?
03:16And the Philadelphia Eagles do have that.
03:18But, Kevin, it's in New York.
03:19You practice in the morning, jump on an hour-and-a-half train,
03:23and you're up there and staying in a hotel.
03:24It's not that normal, hey, Philadelphia's got to go to Tampa Bay
03:27or Carolina or Atlanta where you have that entire travel day.
03:29Maybe a jet lag because you're going two and three time zones over.
03:32You don't have that.
03:33So that's actually a win for the Eagles.
03:35You always want that Thursday night game home.
03:36But if it is going to be on the road, you would want it to be the Commanders,
03:39Baltimore Ravens, and or the New York Giants.
03:41So that's not really a detriment to me on a Thursday night,
03:43which is such usually a detriment to the road team.
