00:00We are the monarch's representatives in the county. So we act as a force for good. We're
00:05completely apolitical. We're all volunteers and we do what we can to cover all the cross-sections
00:11of communities in Murray to make the place a better place. Seymour has been a fantastic
00:15Lord Lieutenant over the last five years. He's hugely well respected. He gave me a wonderful
00:20handover with lots of, passed on lots of good information and then a moving ceremony. So
00:25we moved to Murray back in 2003. I was posted up here initially with the Royal Air Force.
00:31I served as a squadron commander flying tornadoes and then the station commander at RAF Flossymouth.
00:37My wife has been a doctor in the local area and both our kids have gone to school here. So
00:40basically as a family we've grown up here. We've been made to feel incredibly welcome.
00:45There's a great tradition of volunteering and helping out people here in Murray
00:48and I will work tirelessly to make sure that we continue in that fine tradition.
00:55It's about improving the communities in Murray and that's, you know, that's a continual
00:59process. We all have a role to play. As I said before, I think we should encourage volunteering
01:04from all ages into the community, feeding back into that community such that we're all
01:09better protected for the future should any hardships occur.
