00:00Of course, you will all be lined up in your droves to say to me,
00:04how on earth can you afford all of this?
00:06How on earth can you afford 5 billion here or 5 billion there?
00:10Almost forgetting that the national debt is now 2.8 trillion.
00:14And that not just the last government, but this one too,
00:17are hopelessly adrift when it comes to government borrowing.
00:21We are going to make big savings.
00:25We will stand here before you in one year's time
00:27and show you the excessive costs that we've taken out of local government.
00:34And at a national level, if we win the next election, we will scrap net zero.
00:41Something that is costing the Exchequer an extraordinary 40 billion plus pounds every year.
00:48There will be no more asylum hotels or houses of multiple occupancy.
00:55People who come here illegally across the Channel or on the back of lorries will not be allowed to stay.
01:03We will scrap the DEI agenda, which is costing the taxpayer up to 7 billion pounds a year throughout the public sector.
01:14And yes, we see considerable savings to be made amongst the quangos.
01:20So yes, I do accept that these proposals, especially the one of lifting to 20,000 pounds,
01:27the level at which people start paying tax,
01:30I accept that it's expensive, but I genuinely believe that we can pay for it
01:34because we're not ideologically tied to the same ideas upon which we believe the Conservative and Labour governments
01:42have gone so wrong over the course of the last few years.
