00:00Let's talk about your Filipino connection. This is quite interesting. Jeff, your brother was
00:11actually born here. What is the story? Actually, it was my brother. It was your brother. Yeah, so my
00:15dad was in the Air Force and so my parents were both here, obviously. And yeah, my brother was
00:21born here on the day they landed on the moon and both my parents really loved... It was 69. Yeah,
00:2669. Okay. Yeah, and they really loved their time here and I think they, you know, I remember
00:33we always had things from the Philippines around the house like cool wood carvings and stuff
00:37like that. So yeah, I think it really made an impact on them. Which wood carving is this?
00:41Not the naughty one. No, just no naughty ones. If they had naughty
00:46ones, they didn't let us see them. Okay. And of course we all know, the world
00:51knows that Nick is married to a Filipina. Yes, she's half Filipina. Vanessa.
00:56She was also born here, also at Clark Air Force Base, ironically. And yeah, and so she's
01:01actually never been back since she was just a young infant. So that's my goal is to one
01:06day bring her and our kids back to, you know, to the Philippines so she could see where she
01:11came from. Would you know where she grew up? Well, I think she moved back to the States
01:16when she was maybe just one or two years old. I mean exactly the place here in the Philippines.
01:18I don't know. I don't know. Okay. But we would catch her once in a while cooking Filipino
01:23food, for example. She makes a mean chicken adobo. Yeah. Chicken adobo. Okay. That's her
01:28go-to. She was doing lumpia one time. Was she? Yes. She was very into the manapuas. The,
01:34you know, these, we lived in Hawaii the last three years. What is it again? They're the buns
01:38with the meat inside. I don't know if that's a Filipino thing or not, but she was very, very
01:42into that as well. Sticky buns? No. It's like a stick. It's like a bun with meat inside.
01:48Oh, there it is. There it is. Okay. She does that? She loves it. No. Wow. She likes to
01:54eat them. You guys like Filipino food? Love it. Love it. What's your favorite, Jeff?
02:01Pens it. The noodles. Because I'm normally on a low-carb diet, which is no noodles, no
02:07flour, no bread. When I come here, all I've been doing since I've been here is eating nonstop.
02:12Nonstop. Okay. We're doing more eating than interviews, performing. Yeah. We've seen Jeff
02:16eat more carbs since he's been here in Manila than I think I have in the last 10 years combined.
02:20I love the food. Empanadas, all that stuff. Empanadas. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Who has pansit now?
02:26Bring it up. Okay. But we're not just talking about pansit. You also are friends with some Filipino
02:32singers. Like Martin Rivera, I suppose. Do you know Martin? Oh, a huge Martin Rivera fan. There
02:40was some talk years ago about maybe us collaborating with him. SB19 we're fans of. They're of the
02:45younger generation. Of course, Regine Velasquez and Rachel Alejandro and Sarah Geronimo and
02:53Jay Darius. I'm a big fan of Jay Darius. He's amazing. I had the luxury of coming back here
02:58on my own and performed with South Border. Got to sing Rainbow with them, which is just an
03:03amazing song. I mean, I'm just, when we came here the first time, we literally got off the
03:08plane and went to a restaurant and everybody in the restaurant could sing. And we got intimidated
03:13at how much talent is coming out of this area. It's amazing.
03:18Okay. We have a crowd right here in the studio and this doesn't happen very often.
03:38Good night.
03:59Bye.
04:01Oh, my God.
04:31Oh, my God.
