00:00I'm here with the new Amazfit Active 2 smartwatch, which just got launched at CES 2025.
00:09It comes in two varieties, one for $129, the other for $99, and it will start shipping
00:15in the beginning of February with pre-orders available right now.
00:18The premium edition has a stainless steel case, sapphire screen, and a leather strap.
00:23The standard edition comes in an aluminum case, standard glass screen, and with a silicon
00:28strap, no leather strap.
00:30The biggest change compared to the original active smartwatch is the case is now a circle
00:34instead of a rectangle.
00:35The screen brightness has also been increased to 2,000 nits, which is a match with the Apple
00:39Watch 10, the Google Pixel Watch 3, and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7.
00:44Now those watches all cost considerably more than the Amazfit Active 2, so I think that's
00:48a pretty good bargain.
00:49Another new feature I'm seriously impressed by is the ability to download and save offline
00:54maps with turn-by-turn directions.
00:56As someone who really likes to hike and get out into the outdoors, it's a really useful
01:00tool, especially, again, on a watch at this price point.
01:03The Active 2 features the brand's latest sensor array and also now features a gyroscope.
01:08The device has over 160 sports profiles, including two new ones, Skiing and Hirox Race Mode.
01:14Amazfit also went ahead and updated the sleep and heart rate algorithms for better accuracy.
01:19Battery life is an impressive 10 days, which is a match with the brand's predecessor.
01:22I'm really looking forward to getting out and testing the new Amazfit Active 2.
