Full video: Concentration is meaningless without discretion || Acharya Prashant (2022)
Transcript
00:00I get this feeling that I'm always short of time. I feel I'm restless about everything that I'm doing, that I want to do a lot of things together.
00:08You are saying you are taking too many things on parallelly. The matter might be just the opposite.
00:15There are five things and probably all of them need to be looked at all at once. But one must not stop there.
00:23The next thing is prioritization. It's alright to be conscious of the choices available. But once you know what all is available, you must have a value system that can clearly prioritize.
00:35So I consider each of them and then using my discretion, I decide which one to put at the top of the list.
00:43And accordingly, I invest my time, resources, attention, everything.
00:46Concentration is absolutely meaningless without discretion.
00:51The problem then is not concentration. The problem then is what to concentrate on.
00:56And that decides the quality of your life.
