I tried the Aldi dupe perfumes for Tom Ford and Victoria Beckham

00:00I wanted to talk to you today about perfumes because Aldi have brought out a brand new range
00:11of dupes, of very famous and very expensive well-known fragrances and it just so happens
00:17that I'm into my fragrances. So I went down to a local Aldi. Now this one I want to show
00:26you. La Cura Classic Italia. It's meant to be a dupe of Victoria Beckham's Portofino that
00:37retails at £175. This £6.99. It's got the characteristic kind of bottle there, the callers
00:49are right. This was actually, or sorry, the real version, Portofino, was on my kind of
00:56like want list. So when I saw it all over social media, all over TikTok, I thought, yes, I want
01:02to actually see what that one's like. And I will have a little smell of it. Yeah, it's
01:08actually quite a, I would say it's quite a masculine flavour, scent. What's disappointing
01:18there is that, that spray dispenser bit looks really cheap, doesn't it? But it is cheap.
01:24It's £6.99. So what do we expect? Um, but I think it's got like a, quite a sultry masculine
01:33um, tobacco-y kind of flavour, uh, sorry, scent, keep getting that wrong. Um, but it does last.
01:42It does seem to stand the test of time, this one. And it's, it's, it's an unusual scent
01:48that I quite like. And I've got to say for £6.99, if you can get it, it comes in this
01:54box. This box had been ripped open already. It was the last one that they had in the Aldi
01:58that I went to. Um, worth £6.99. I think it looks quite smart. It's, it's an interesting,
02:05sultry, um, deep tobacco-y kind of flavour. So go for that. Now, the one that I'm more
02:13interested in telling you about was marked up, interestingly, there you go, Solar Luxe as
02:22a man's fragrance. It's not, and I'll tell you why it's not. Because I've got the real
02:30one. So it's based, Solar Luxe is based on Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford. Now, what's the price
02:39difference? You'll be absolutely staggered. £5 for 50ml. This recommended retail price,
02:48£222. So if this is anything like that, it's got to be a bargain, right? Well, the other
02:57day, I put a spray of this on that hand and a spray of this on that hand, because I wanted
03:06to actually be able to tell you whether it's a true lightness or not. With this one, I actually
03:12can't tell you. I can tell you it's decent, it's nice, it's well worth the money, but I
03:16can't tell you whether it actually smells like Victoria Beckham's fragrance. This one
03:20I can. So, does it? Yes, it does. When I first sprayed the Aldi version on my hand,
03:27I was disappointed and I was disappointed because I thought, why have I been spending all that
03:33money on a proper Tom Ford when I could have spent a fraction on a dupe? Well, I've got
03:40to tell you, this proper version smells deeper, it smells stronger than this one, but the initial
03:46smell is very, very, very similar. But here's where we go wrong. After about 15 minutes, you
03:56can barely smell this one at all. This one keeps on going and going and going and going
04:02and it's the same depth, it's the same smell, it remains on your clothes if you put them on
04:08the next morning. This one, it would last 15 minutes and then it will go to a kind of a
04:14sweet kind of smell. But, you know, it changes into, it loses the coconutty, it loses any depth
04:24it had and it just becomes a sickly sweet smell. This one retains its signature, its profile
04:32for hours and hours and hours. So, yes, it's a lot of money, but they're not the same. They may initially
04:40have that similar smell, but let's be honest, Fiver, £222. If you're just going to have to keep
04:50reapplying this, then just keep reapplying it. It's a lovely summer fragrance. Again, it's got that
04:57really nasty transparent plastic top, but you can see the shapes, especially when I've got the top on it,
05:06the squareness. You can see where they're going with that. But, yeah, it's summery, it's floral.
05:13Apparently, it's one of Molly Mae's favourites. I didn't get it because of Molly Mae. She didn't
05:17even come out with it when I got it. But it's evocative of summer holiday, sun cream, coconut.
05:25I'm just looking at here. It's a floral scent, sultry. Yeah, it's not sickly sweet. It's a bit of
05:34tonka bean in there. It's warm. It's solar, soleil, summer. It's well worth a five. Go and get it.
