00:00The Iranian revenge drama It Was Just An Accident won the Palemdor, the top prize at Cannes Film Festival.

00:09The film was directed by Iranian dissident filmmaker Jafar Banahi.

00:14The director had been banned from international travel and making films for more than 15 years.

00:19However, this didn't stop him, as Banahi had been making films in secret in his home country.

00:25On stage, the director had addressed his prize to Iranians and said freedom in his country was what mattered the most.

00:34The Brazilian thriller The Secret Agent won two big awards, one for Best Actor for Wagner Moura and Best Director for Kleber Mendonca Filho.

00:45Newcomer Nadia Meliti was given Best Actress for her performance in The Little Sister,
