00:00Anyway, Pete Crow Armstrong. Let's start off here with the Chicago Cubs, one of the most valuable players in all of fantasy baseball.
00:07I mean, there's no question about it. Friday night, this guy goes off completely.
00:11As you can see, his numbers, they're out of this world, stealing bases like crazy, too.
00:17He's on pace not for 30-30, but for 40-40. I mean, I don't think he's going to go 40-40.
00:22But we're seeing a potential young superstar in his breakout season.
00:29Not to say last season wasn't part of that, but it's really happening now, George.
00:34And he's the kind of player that in fantasy baseball, if you have him on your team, you couldn't have done any better.
00:41Like, this is one of those guys that you think about playing fantasy baseball, and you hit on a guy that you didn't draft the first couple rounds.
00:48This is it.
00:50He's a league winner.
00:51There's no other way of talking about it.
00:53He's a league winner.
00:54All right.
00:55Right now, his average is helping you.
00:57His home runs are certainly helping you, and he's stealing bases as well.
01:00I mean, he's doing everything you could want.
01:01And you didn't draft it anywhere near the first couple of rounds.
01:04All right.
01:04We weren't sure about this kid coming in.
01:06He might be good.
01:07He might be okay.
01:08You know, yeah, he'll steal me some bases.
01:10I'm going to take him all, you know, whatever, round 10.
01:12So, yeah, I think he's had a fantastic season here.
01:15Looks great.
01:16He's a former Met, right?
01:17Came over in one of those trades there.
01:20So, oops.
01:21I think the Mets would like him back to be a center fielder, wouldn't they?
01:25Oh, the hobby.
01:27Buy it.
01:27Oh, my God.
01:28Oh, boy.
01:29The Mets maybe ruined that for a long time.
01:34All right.
01:35As good as this kid is yet.
01:36But he's been fantastic.
01:37It's good to see.
01:37We'd like to see good young players reach there.
01:39Well, actually, I think he's overreaching his potential, right?
01:41He's going past that right now.
01:44No one – people thought he'd be a good player.
01:45No one saw superstar potential, and right now he's at that.
01:49Same could be said for James Wood of the Washington Nationals.
01:53Probably not getting as much fanfare because Washington, up until this past week, wasn't playing very well.
02:00And I got to say, I was a little concerned for the Nationals and for Dave Martinez.
02:04And I was like, wait a second.
02:05Like, isn't there supposed to be this step coming this year?
02:08Okay, it's here.
02:09The Nationals look like they could be 500 this year.
02:11This is what they were asking for.
02:13And then next year, maybe take the bigger step.
02:15Part of it has been Wood, 12 home runs, 33 runs driven in, seven stolen bases for a guy that's this big.
02:21It's sort of crazy.
02:22And, yeah, I mean, the Nationals are really in a good spot, I think, moving forward.
02:27But as I said, George, I mean, if you looked at the end of April and even into May a little bit, I was like, wait a second here.
02:33Like, the Nationals should be better than this.
02:35Like, they shouldn't be at the bottom of the NL East.
02:37But, obviously, they're playing much better baseball now.
02:40Yeah, I said, I don't see them contending for a playoff spot like that.
02:44But I think they could take the next step.
02:46And they sort of are.
02:47And James Wood is a big reason why.
02:49He's sort of a left-handed hitting Aaron Judge, right?
02:51He's huge.
02:52He can run.
02:53He's going to hit home runs.
02:54He'll hit home runs by mistake because the man is so strong.
02:57And doesn't play in the greatest hitters ballpark in Washington.
03:00But still get the job done.
03:02I am a James Wood fan, okay?
03:04I think I've said this a couple times on the show.
03:06My biggest futures bet in baseball was James Wood over 17 and a half home runs.
03:11He's going to crush that.
03:12Unless, you know, he gets hurt here.
03:14He should pass that fair pretty easily.
03:15We'll knock on wood there.
03:17But love James Wood.
03:20Dylan Cruz, he got hurt here.
03:21And at one point I was wondering if he could be up in this list as well before the season.
03:24He got hurt.
03:25He was just starting to turn his season around as well here.
03:28Yeah.
03:28So we'll see what happens when Cruz can come back as well.
03:30I think those two, and C.J. Abrams, by the way, are going to be the catalyst for that Washington Nationalist offense both this year and in the future.
03:37I would agree.
03:38The Arizona Diamondbacks have Geraldo Perdomo.
03:42A couple years ago was thought to be maybe a backup player in fantasy baseball and reality baseball.
03:48It's been a lot more than that.
03:49But look at his average, 300.
03:51And the difference between him and a guy like Louis Uriah, as George, is look at the steals.
03:55I mean, he's going to steal probably 25, 30 bases this season.
03:58There was some sentiment that he would not be a starting player ever.
04:03I mean, he surpassed that, right?
04:07Yeah, right there.
04:08And they do have a bunch of, I guess, middle infielders, right?
04:11They just called up Lola.
04:12Where's Lola going to play?
04:13Because you're not really – you're not benching Perdomo.
04:15I don't see that here.
04:16So he's played very well here.
04:18As you said, he's got some pop, too.
04:19He'll probably, at the end of the year, hit 15 home runs.
04:22We'll take that.
04:23Maybe even get to 20.
04:24Wouldn't be the biggest shock.
04:25Steal you.
04:25Some bases.
04:26Good average.
04:27So, yes, we like Perdomo.
04:29Another guy who we didn't see this coming from.
04:32You know, I mean, maybe close, but not quite this.
04:34But, yeah, Perdomo's had a really good season.
04:36And he plays in a really good lineup, which helps as well here.
04:39There's no real pressure on him other than the normal performance pressure there.
04:43But there'll be people on base for him.
04:45Perdomo's had a very nice start to his season.
