00:00I started to eat very low calorie stuff like when I first started it was below
00:052,000 calories a day and then I went to below 1,500 calories then for a
00:10month straight I went to below a thousand calories I mean I'm talking
00:13crazier than a competition diet distilled water you know like all kinds of stuff
00:18I'm here with Jaz Mathur and he has an incredible transformation story I have
00:24to say that you lost around 250 pounds which is more than 100 kilos which for
00:29me is I can't even fathom I can't even do the math really because I can't lose
00:34even three kilos so how did you do it and be very honest so how I did it was
00:39through new diet primarily diet I didn't take any supplements I didn't take any
00:46of that no supplements no nothing just strictly mainly mainly mainly diet and a
00:51treadmill but the most important part to the whole thing was my mindset I I
00:57obviously let myself go to a stage I wasn't born at 450 pounds right so over
01:03the years I let myself go and get to that stage of okay I've hit the I've hit the
01:09end of the rope the end of the rope is my waist size was 68 inches I used to shop
01:15at mr. big and tall that was the only store okay I could I could get stuff at that
01:20was the last size that they had so there was no going any bigger than that so I
01:25had no choice that combined with a few other things I had no choice but to say
01:30one day I'm gonna go backwards right I'm gonna start I'm gonna put my head to it
01:34and my thing is I let myself keep going in a certain direction until I decide
01:39okay this is what I want to focus on I'll put my head to this and I'm gonna make
01:43this you know I'm gonna make this a priority and I made myself a priority
01:47because my before I used to just make money a priority and with the money I
01:52would make other people a priority but then I made myself a priority I said you
01:56know what I have a lot of money I had a lot of money saved up so I said I'm gonna
02:00make myself a priority and in three first three months I lost 88 pounds and then
02:04I got addicted to it and then eventually you just hit the treadmill well I hit the
02:09treadmill I started to eat very low calorie stuff like when I first started it
02:14was below 2,000 calories a day and then I went to over 1,500 calories below 1,500
02:19then for a month straight I went to below a thousand calories I mean I'm
02:23talking crazier than the competition diet distilled water you know like all kinds
02:27of stuff right what was the switch though when you decided enough forget the
02:32shopping bit of it etc there must have been a point where you like I can't go on
02:35like this right hmm it was really a challenge it was basically it was like
02:41combination of things it was a girl I was reconnecting in high school with it
02:44was a challenge she extended that challenge no she didn't even know what
02:48I look like I extended my own challenge because I didn't want her to see what I
02:52look like and other people I was reconnecting with from school back then so I
02:57said you know what I'm gonna lose weight fast just Facebook came out I gave
03:02myself the challenge so I challenged myself I I legitimately challenged myself I put
03:08myself into these predicaments and I'll then I have to I have to get myself out
03:13of it but did you get the girl yeah of course I'm happy to hear that but a happy
03:18ending I was in a relationship for three years I'm so happy to hear that's it
03:21something came out of it that is amazing we live in an era where
03:24Ozempic, Wegovi, Munjaro etc I don't believe in shortcuts ever it's not
03:28shortcuts it's also a medicine for perhaps yes for people who are morbidly obese of
03:33course but it's for people with diabetes it's for people with diabetes or
03:37legitimately have certain things it's not for an influencer who wants to take it
03:43just to make her waist smaller right I mean it's not for cosmetic absolutely not
03:48vanity reasons no it's hard work is for that not Ozempic I love that I think I
03:53should put that on the t-shirt I've always been tempted because we have been
03:56somewhere fed as well it's okay to have a bit of it we can always bounce back we do
04:01live in that era right where vanity matters where the way you look matters
04:05did it ever I mean was it disillusioning at that point when you were a former
04:09plus-size person not back then because people were not really self-aware at that
04:14point it was not health was not a big thing today health is a big craze today
04:19it's like you know everyone wants to be health conscious organic foods I mean back
04:23then there was no different there was no organic you didn't you didn't know the
04:26difference between A from B right there was all these things weren't being
04:29marketed the way they are today today every everything is is more out there
04:33and people are more so more aware more health conscious and like I said earlier
04:38it's all about look good feel great there's something called pretty privilege
04:41where if you're very pretty you get away with a lot with brawn is there
04:44something on a brawn privilege where you're brownie and good-looking you get
04:48away with a lot of things I don't know you can be honest be honest I mean come on no
04:54people treat you better when you're more ripped I think I think no no no no no
04:59no no because no no ultimately people look at okay so it's not about of course
05:06it's a it's it's a status symbol in a way because you're able to maintain
05:11yourself in a certain way right but here's the thing an athlete is an
05:16athlete that's their job so this is what was told to me this is the reason why so
05:22for many many many years I wanted to put my vision out through athletes and
05:26celebrities and I want it to be the back end to my own brand it was never gonna
05:31work we tried for years to do this it never worked until the athletes
05:36themselves sat me down and told me listen we have been athletes our life like for
05:43our life since we're younger too this is how we make our money you this is my job
05:49you changed your life from what you were to being able to train like us and do
05:57this side which is a full-time job in itself you need to be the front guy of
06:03your own story you can't have anybody else be the person you know putting it out
06:09there for you and you're sitting in a shadow so is it a risk do people that are in
06:16shape and stuff yeah of course because it takes a certain discipline to stay in
06:20shape right it's very easy to go off but also at the same time it's like when
06:26that is not your job but you are doing it like a full-time job yeah it's it's
06:33different it's very different so it's not about getting away with stuff it's just
06:38people look at like I have had yes more people have a respect for me for my
06:43weight loss and and will give me the five minutes to speak about anything I
06:48want or open doors based on my discipline that is shown with the hard
06:52work on the weight loss than any business or any amount of financial
06:57success right put it that way no but what would you tell all those people who
07:00think you know fast food burgers etc far more cheaper than say organic food
07:05let's say in Dubai as well it's very true it's easier it's cheaper to eat
07:08unhealthy than to eat healthy however in Dubai the McDonald's is totally
07:14different than the US possibly the fast food here is totally different I mean
07:18the quality of the McDonald's here is day and night different than what's in the
07:22US not the same thing what's your cheat day like do you do cheat days at all
07:26I don't believe in not have I don't believe in not eating what you don't want to
07:31eat but you got to eat in moderation yeah so I don't I don't I don't diet I
07:35don't have like a like I'll eat good clean food right like you're not gonna see
07:42me eat spaghetti or pasta every single day or have like you know loaves of bread
07:47every day but will I if I go to a restaurant go to Italian restaurant will I not
07:52eat the bread that's on the table that no of course I will right and what you
07:57would eat the bread you would eat the bread now when I was going through a
08:00whole weight loss thing in the beginning and stuff no I had to really cut it out
08:04I had to stop but today I mean it's it's neither here nor there you know but do
08:09you have to start small like not everybody has a kind of discipline or the
08:13girl they want there's nobody there's no girl waiting you know what I mean that
08:17motivations I think everybody has somebody that are trying to get with or do
08:20something I mean that's a hundred percent whether they were admitted or they
08:24don't admit it is a different story there's somebody there's all they're
08:27all they're all chasing after somebody or something but but the the thing is yes
08:33you don't have to go that extreme you can you can go slow and steady and it is
08:38better to go slow and steady like I went extreme from a weight loss standpoint but
08:43I didn't go extreme to build muscle I went slow and steady to build muscle right
08:48you you took your time did you surround yourself with a team of experts
08:52because you had the money as well well is that also key just don't go on these
08:56crazy diets like go on calorie deficit it might harm you then do more today I
09:01have a team of experts back then when I was just losing weight no I didn't I mean
09:05at points I didn't know what that what I was doing you just went with yeah I
09:08didn't have the relationships that I do today okay today I have I have like
09:12everything I do is like properly monitor I have doctors I have the one of the
09:16world I've won I literally have one of the world's best doctors I have one of the
09:20world's best trainers you know like physio therapist massage therapist all
09:27of that stuff yeah right what works for you the most cardio or strength training
09:31it's it's a debate that keeps happening but you need both and you spend how many
09:36hours now now in maintenance phase right now well I trained five days a week okay
09:40and I'm sure I trained for an hour and 45 minutes right in the morning do you think
09:45more than making money this is the best thing that you achieved in your life yes you
09:48went to yeah losing weight is far tougher than making a million it's more
09:52yeah of course yeah that this is the this is more challenging than making any
09:56amount of money no way it's much easier to make a million dollars and then to do
10:00this okay of course this is this is there's this is like a real every day
10:05it's consistency you every single day you have to go and put into work and you see
10:10some days you see no results some weeks you see no results right some weeks you
10:15don't see any results um and and and look when making money comes along the way if
10:20you do something you're genuine about you like it you enjoy it or you're doing other
10:24businesses that you have that you know how to run never you're gonna make money yeah
10:28you'll you'll be able to make money it's not that's not the whole like I'm not in
10:32my thing is why I'm not in competition with anyone so I'm not looking to be like okay well
10:38this guy made this much so I need to go make this much no I don't care I'm happy for what
10:42everybody makes I like to be with people that have 100 times more than me but I
10:47know the one thing they don't have is my work ethic when it comes to training and
10:52the discipline like if I'm in yeah I get up at 2 o'clock in the morning and you
10:57train at 2 in the morning no I train at 5 I have a very balanced healthy life a very
11:05balanced healthy life that is based on certain goals and things that I want to
11:11achieve and what I want to do and what I want to reflect to others so first you
11:17have to keep in mind I live in the west coast the west coast already if 2 o'clock
11:22a.m pacific is 5 a.m it's 5 a.m eastern right I'm in public markets public
11:30markets open up at 9 o'clock in the morning of course I have to be up I have
11:34to be up early morning right I'm working with international too so if I get up late
11:39then what's gonna happen it's I'm gonna go haywire it's not about the training
11:45it's the discipline to get out of your house and to actually go there and to
11:50feel good about yourself after the workout and then based off that you put
11:55the right nutrients in your body because when you look at yourself in the mirror
11:59and you genuinely love yourself it shows that it reflects that it's a confidence
12:05thing and after that you can go out and achieve anything you want but thank you
