00:00I thought it was such a crucial game for Carolina the way they had lost they've been swept what was

00:06it three straight times in conference finals they were at you know had the game at home

00:11Florida was coming off a seven game series with Toronto Carolina had rest after taking care of

00:17the caps it was as must win a game one can be and usually I don't like to do that Tom with game ones

00:22but I really and now here we go they got blasted both games at home they're getting swept Tom I'm

00:28sorry I don't see any way around it it's it's not really the fact that they lost both games I

00:32almost want to say it's like it's how they lost both games like adding in those factors like you

00:36said it's like they have rest they had a pretty easy series versus the caps all things considered

00:41especially comparatively when we're looking at what the Panthers had to go through but it's how they

00:45lost like they this the Panthers look like they were on home ice and this is the first round and

00:50they're playing some wild card team and it looks like the Canes are almost going through the motions

00:54and it looks terrible and you know over the past couple weeks and over the past couple months

00:57especially when I've been talking to Ben and Donnie on the early line I've been mentioning

01:01like yeah like the Canes number like it doesn't make sense to me like I think they're a good team

01:05I just don't think that they're great I don't think they're as good as ultimately as good as the

01:08Panthers as we're seeing now I thought we would see them in a fight against the caps which we got to

01:13an extent but the Canes are a team that are known for their defense right they have been a team that

01:18you know puck control over the past few years under Rod Brindemore over several years like him

01:22and they just look terrible like it was an embarrassing performance over the first two

01:27games that we saw from them giving them five plus goals Freddie Anderson looks terrible so at a certain

01:32point we could say okay are the forwards are they comparable sure the defensive forwards are they

01:37comparable but when it's all said and done like Sergei Bobrovsky is so so much better compared to

01:42Freddie Anderson at best this series goes five games yeah and I'm not even I'm not even gonna go

01:50there like edit you're right how this Carolina team has been pumped up over the last few years as

01:58this big favorite preseason throughout the season pre-playoffs big favorite because of what what have

02:07they done over the last four to five years and look are they light years better when Brindemore took the

02:13job and they've started making the playoffs but a dominant ring yes they have but they haven't been able

02:18to cross that line yet and I can't believe especially this year people put so much faith and I'll give

02:24them credit for this Tom they tried to change things up this year they made a big move by bringing

02:30Ranton in unfortunately for them they probably should have talked to Ranton in before they went and made

02:36that move and that kind of screwed them but they still end up in the conference final but they just

02:41don't got the gas for me uh they just really don't they really don't and whether it was was last year

02:46they lost the Rangers two years ago they lost to the Panthers like when it's all said and done like

02:51I think this is a situation where like both things are true like they are a good team but they aren't

02:56great and it's okay to be a good team like they are good they went to uh was conference finals or

03:00second round versus Boston years ago yeah when they play those series they played the caps like

03:05they're a good team they are a good playoff team but they aren't great and they don't have the pieces

03:09to get it done they need to make some change I think they need an elite goaltender

03:12Piotr could check off one of their young goalie your backup I don't know if he's going to be a

03:16star-studded goalie I don't know if it's a coaching change whatever it may be it just doesn't work

03:20go to the second round if you're loose third round congrats but you're not going to get over the hump
