President Trump Reveals 'Alarming Findings' In First MAHA Report On Childhood Health

At a "Make America Healthy Again" Commission Event on Thursday, President Trump spoke about the first MAHA report on childhood health.

00:00Four months ago, I created the Presidential Commission

00:02to Make America Healthy Again.

00:04And today, the commission officially delivers

00:06its first report on childhood health.

00:10Here are just some of the alarming findings.

00:12And they really are alarming.

00:13It's unbelievable, terrible.

00:15More than 40 percent of American children now

00:18have at least one chronic health condition.

00:21Since the 1970, rates of childhood cancer

00:24have soared, in many cases, by nearly 50 percent.

00:2850 percent.

00:29Well, in the 1960s, less than 5 percent

00:33of the children were obese.

00:34Now, over 20 percent are obese.

00:37A few decades ago, one in one — think of this one.

00:40This is, to me, the one that gets me every time.

00:43And it seems to be getting worse.

00:46Just a few decades ago, one in 10,000 children had autism.

00:50Today, it's one in 31.

00:53Last time I heard the number is one in 34, right?

00:56Now it's one in 31.

00:58There's something wrong, and we will not stop

01:00until we defeat the chronic disease epidemic in America.

01:05We're going to get it done.

01:06For the first time ever, this report examines

01:08some of the root causes that many believe

01:10are making our children sicker,

01:12and our population sicker, I guess.

01:14It just doesn't stop with the children.

01:16It's our population, also.

01:18Such as the ultra-processed foods,

01:21over-medicalization, and over-prescription,

01:24and widespread exposure to potentially toxic chemicals.

01:28Unlike other administrations,

01:30we will not be silenced or intimidated

01:33by the corporate lobbyists or special interests.

01:35And I want this group to do what they have to do.

01:38We have to spell it out.

01:40In some cases, it won't be nice or it won't be pretty,

01:43but we have to do it.

01:44When you hear — when you hear 10,000,

01:47it was one in 10,000, and now it's one in 31 for autism,

01:52I think that's just a terrible thing.

01:54It has to be something on the outside.

01:56It has to be artificially induced.

01:58It has to be.

01:59And we'll not allow our public health system

02:01to be captured by the very industries

02:04it's supposed to oversee.

02:05So we're demanding the answers.

02:08The public is demanding the answers,

02:10and that's why we're here.

02:11Already, we're phasing out eight

02:13of the most common artificial food dyes.

02:16And we ended the most serious conflicts of interest

02:27at the FDA.

02:28We had a lot of conflicts over there.

02:30Earlier this week, we approved a SNAP waiver request

02:34from Nebraska so they can stop taxpayer dollars

02:37from being used to make our children obese.

02:40I understand requests from three more states

02:44will be approved shortly, and more are expected

02:46to come in the following weeks.

02:48Over the next 80 days, the Commission will build

02:51on its work in this report to develop a roadmap

02:54to bold and transformative public health reforms

02:58for our consideration.

03:00It's a consideration, and we'll lay out the facts.

03:03Let me say congratulations to the entire Maha movement.

03:07This movement has become very hot.

03:09People are — people are really —

03:11I'll tell you, they're going crazy over Maha.

03:14They're going crazy, right?

03:22And I look forward to continuing the historic progress.

03:26And I will say this.

03:27This whole group, this whole table, they're very —

03:30you know, I use a word that's —

03:31because it's a beautiful word, actually.

03:33The Democrats took it, and they used it.

03:35Instead of the word liberal, they used the word progressive.

03:38And normally, I'd say you're very progressive,

03:40meaning you're far — they're not progressive.

03:43You are progressive.

03:44They shouldn't be allowed to use that word.

03:46And I'm —

03:47And so, therefore, I'm not going to use it to describe you,

03:49but you are far-forward thinkers.

03:52You're amazing thinkers, and we appreciate having you.

03:55There's this tremendous talent around this table,

03:57the most respected people anywhere in the world, actually.
