Friends and family remember Hannah Moody, hiker found dead at Gateway Trail

00:00The sheriff's office found Hannah Moody's body 600 yards off trail from the Gateway Trailhead parking lot.
00:07Despite this devastating discovery today, her friends and family focusing on the light that she gave to others through her life.
00:14It's just coming back to the present moment.
00:16She was just an honor to love and to know.
00:1831-year-old Hannah Moody.

00:21Was more than just an avid hiker.
00:23Hannah was such a beautiful ray of light.
00:28She loved God.
00:29She loved others and she lived that out by how she carried herself.
00:34She was last seen here at the Gateway Trailhead Wednesday morning.
00:37When friends hadn't heard from her by nearly 8 at night, they called police.
00:41Every second counts when it's hot outside.
00:43A massive search started.
00:44First responders and community members coming out.
00:47We did have people all around in different areas hiking and looking for her.
00:52We allowed the first responders to do what they were doing.
00:54Her body found just after noon on Thursday.
00:57Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play.

01:12Moody shared her life to uplift others, both in person and online.

01:20She inspired so many people, you know, online, in her friend group, in her community.
01:24Moody's father says she loved being outdoors and always brought water.
01:28He described her as courageous, smart, kind, and generous.
01:31A person who loves spending time with her friends and with Jesus.

01:37More of your love, your grace, your compassion.
01:39It breaks all of our hearts, but, you know, at the end of the day, she left this earth doing something that she loved.
01:46For those who never knew her but searched for her as if she was one of their own.
01:50Hannah, I never got the chance to meet you, but we all love you.

01:54We love your parents, and we're going to be here for your family, no matter what.
