Are all the recent and current redevelopment projects improving Sheffield?

00:00Do you think all the redevelopment projects that are going on in Sheffield at the moment will benefit the city?

00:05Well the only one I've really seen firsthand is here at Fargate with all this new development of the Fargate area.

00:13And it did take a long time to complete and towards the...

00:20We were really, really rushing to get things done.

00:23And I've noticed down at the bottom there, opposite of Ox and Spencer's, there's two areas where it's just like tarmac.

00:30And I'm just wondering whether that's going to stay as it is or not.

00:34Because it just seems a complete waste of effort that they haven't completed it as a whole.

00:39The rest of the other development areas, I have seen a lot of development taking place.

00:45And hopefully it will benefit the city. If not, it's just been a complete waste of money again.

00:53Yeah, it's taken a long time, but it's looking really good.

00:57And hopefully it'll bring people here and improve a lot more commercial.

01:04Some of these things are closed down. It'd be nice to see some of them opening up again.

01:08Yes, I do. Yes, I think it looks rather nice.

01:12We walked at the pavements and it's looking cleaner. Yes.

01:17Especially these ones. The city is really nice. It looks very beautiful.

01:23You mean Fargate? Yeah, yeah. Fargate.

01:26Because I came into Sheffield in 2023 and it wasn't as beautiful. Well, Fargate here.

01:32It wasn't as beautiful as it is now. So it's quite good development for the city.

01:38Yeah, definitely. I think, from a personal view, growing up in Sheffield, I've never seen Fargate so nice and more so nice.

01:46So that's, what, 20, 24 years of my life. So definitely.

01:50And I think now, more than ever, people are more inclined to come into town, whether it's to have a drink or go shopping.

01:56I think it's fantastic and it's just a nice place to be and sit and, you know, take in the city.
