02:02for a forward movement when it comes to not just russia ukraine but america's involvement in the war
02:10if he isn't able to bring about a breakthrough this time around and if the impasse continues

03:23between president trump and president zelensky and later between president trump and president

10:20partnership
10:24we have a strong presence of india
10:27we have no one who is coming from india
10:29we have no one who has been calling withジェク echol salari
10:31this is the government's perspective
10:33which is the government's perspective
10:35which is a short sightedness
10:37which is K Они контр, which is the government's perspective
10:39and the government has never seen
10:41again I will say that our government has already made it
10:43we have a statement
10:44we have no one who has called the government
10:47who you think is a legitimate representative
10:53that you go to the world, that is what we all know.
10:56That is what we all know, that is what we all know.
10:59Now, I want to tell you that
11:02that Pakistan is a part of a worker
11:06that I want to tell you,
11:09that we, who are legitimate
11:13Pakistan's people, legitimate
11:16knowledge, that we will not have the responsibility of our country
11:22and that we will send our support for our country.
11:28After the parliamentarians, we will send our money.
11:43Pakistan is battered and bruised.
11:45From the Indian Operation Sindur
11:47And its own political leadership's self-sabotaging claims.
11:57And to salvage the situation,
12:00Pakistan knows very few original tricks.
12:03When New Delhi announced multi-party delegations to represent the country at international forums and inform global leaders about Operation Sindur,
12:15Islamabad,
12:17Islamabad quickly followed suit.
12:19former foreign minister of Pakistan and chairman of Pakistan People's Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari,
12:31has been chosen by the Prime Minister,
12:33Shahbaz Sharif,
12:35to lead a delegation to present Pakistan's stance regarding the recent rise in tensions between India and Pakistan.
12:45The Pakistani delegation will also include Energy Minister,
12:49Musaddik Malik,
12:51Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader,
12:53Khurram Dastagir Khan,
12:55Senator Sheri Rahman,
12:57former foreign minister,
12:59Hina Rabbani Khar,
13:01Mutahida Qaumii movement lawmaker,
13:03Faizal Sabzawari,
13:05and former foreign secretaries,
13:07Hina Janjua,
13:08and Jaleel Abbas Jilani.
13:13Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister,
13:15Ishigdar,
13:16clarified that the delegation would soon visit the United States,
13:20the UK,
13:22Brussels,
13:23France,
13:24and Russia
13:25to highlight Pakistan's stance on the recent conflict.
13:31The day the Pakistani Prime Minister announced Bhutto Sayan as the chosen leader of the delegation,
13:36British Foreign Minister David Lammy concluded his two-day visit to the country.
13:41It was pre-scheduled,
13:43but Operation Sindur and the tension of the subcontinent dominated talks.
13:49Pakistan has said Britain and other countries, in addition to the United States,
13:54played a major role in de-escalating the conflict between the nuclear-armed South Asian rivals.
14:01By the end of May, Delhi will be sending seven all-party delegations to key partner countries,
14:08including members of the UN Security Council,
14:12to convey India's message of zero tolerance against terrorism,
14:17following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindur.
14:20This united front includes names of stalwart MPs,
14:27and the seven leaders are Shashi Tharoor, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Supriya Sule, Sanjay Kumar, BJ Panda,
14:37and Shrikant Eknath Shindey.
14:44As a citizen being called upon to serve the nation at a time of crisis,
14:48is a matter of duty for all of us.
14:51As the same time for me, it is an honour that I have been asked to lead the delegation,
14:56and I look forward very much to playing my part.
15:00The dedication will be going to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Algeria.
15:11So we will take a briefing with each other.
15:15After a bitter armed confrontation on ground,
15:19both the countries will engage on diplomatic confrontations
15:22to win maximum support for their respective countries from the international community.
15:30Bureau Report, India Today.
15:33Well, this is India's Global Outreach,
15:40and joining me in an exclusive conversation is Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri,
15:45former envoy of India to the United Nations,
15:48also a part of the all-party delegation that will be headed out to world capitals.
15:53Thank you so much for joining me here.
15:55Now let's just begin with what's on the agenda,
15:57and how are you and your delegation going to put India's case forward?
16:03Thank you, Gita, and very delighted to be on your show.
16:09I think there are several messages.
16:12Let me start with a few simple ones, straightforward ones.
16:15A, to tell people quite clearly we are a democracy,
16:20and a democracy and a country in unity.
16:23That's the message of all parties and some of us
16:26who come from the diplomatic world being part of it.
16:29All of us want the world to know that, you know, this particular thing of terrorism
16:35is not something that you can shrunk your shoulders and talk about de-escalation.
16:40You have to be cognizant of it, and you were cognizant at the time of 9-11,
16:45but that seems to have slipped.
16:47India has faced terrorism consistently, has brought this to the world's attention.
16:53And now, what has happened, the heinous act in Palgab on 22nd of April.
16:59Let the world take note that terrorism should have no place in the modern day's lexicon in today and any other thing.
17:08This is one message. And obvious message with that is that states that sponsor terrorism,
17:14states that nurture terrorism, they need to be called out, they need to be under scrutiny,
17:20and there needs to be a watchful eye on them.
17:23You know, let me mention the case of Pakistan.
17:25After the 9-11 attack, the UN had this famous committee called 1267, the resolution.
17:33And when you see the list of people who are listed there, so many of them being found in Pakistan.
17:38Of course, Osama bin Laden being the most obvious case in all of them.
17:43Let me give you another sort of very important message.
17:46Look, which is, what did we do?
17:49Precise, targeted, and we made a clear message that, look, if you do this thing,
17:56which hurts the people of India, which hurts the unity of India, then there will be a response.
18:01The response will be targeted, and it will be a precision response, but it will be a hard response.
18:08And the world needs to understand that this is being done because we owe a duty to our people.
18:14And this is, perhaps, as far as the world is concerned, a right to protect our people,
18:19but it's actually a duty for our people.
18:21And we want the world to understand that, you know, what we did and the way we did it
18:26was absolutely consulent with global norms, with democratic norms,
18:31and there was no other way that a country like India attacked in such a manner could act.
18:36And then, finally, let me say a simple thing to you.
18:39Look, all countries like the idea that you actually talk to them in person.
18:45I think this makes these delegations and multi-party delegations particularly important.
18:51You reach out, you talk to them, you answer their questions.
18:55This whole thing about, you know, Pakistan being the epicenter of global terror.
19:00We need to reach out to people.
19:02And I think, therefore, there are the multiple messages.
19:04And I don't know how to say it.
19:06Of course, I'm very privileged to be part of and honored to be part of this national effort.
19:11But, you know, getting a multi-party delegation from all parts of India, from all political parties,
19:18to go in one word and make this point, coming from the largest country in the world, the largest democracy,
19:24I assure you, it has great resonance.
19:28Right. Ambassador Puri, the fact that India is doing this global outreach,
19:33we're looking at Pakistan also do the same.
19:36They're also going to send a delegation.
19:38We've seen press conference countered with another press conference,
19:42statements countered with a statement.
19:45And now an all-party delegation also is being met with another all-party delegation.
19:51Is this a copycat syndrome that we see from Pakistan?
19:56Either, you know, they are a sovereign country, they can do what they want.
20:00And as you just said, you know, copycat is something that, you know, they certainly know very well.
20:05But my way of looking at it is that, you know, when they will land up there in the capitals that we have visited
20:12and other places in the world, I look at it very positively.
20:15It will clearly unmask them in front of the other people
20:20because it will give those people an opportunity to ask them and question them
20:26on what we would have laid out in front of them and then straight away unmask them.
20:31Let me draw your attention to these interviews by Sky News' very well-known anchor, Yarda Hakim.
20:38You remember she interviewed the Indian High Commissioner
20:41and then she interviewed the Pakistani High Commissioner
20:43and several other Pakistani ministers.
20:45And every one of them trying to make their point actually slip.
20:49And this is what I have no doubt in my mind.
20:53It will get exposed.
20:54And so, therefore, let them do what they want to do and go out and reach them.
20:58But let us also remember that countries in the world, in particular now with a lot of globalization,
21:04they know what it is and they know what are the right questions to ask
21:08and to unmask those who are trying to cover up what they have done
21:12through these kind of moves like, you know, visit capitals,
21:15play the victim card, etc.
21:17Good wash.
21:18Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri, thank you so much for joining us
21:21and wishing you all the best in this effort, this national effort,
21:25expression of unity and diversity.
21:28But this is just part of the interview.
21:30If you want to watch the full interview, log on to India Today Global,
21:33our YouTube channel where you'll find the whole interview with Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri.
21:38Now, shifting focus.
21:40Our business interests in Pakistan forcing U.S. President Donald Trump
21:44to go soft on the biggest state sponsor of terrorism.
21:47A three-month-old remark by a Trump aide shows that dollars and deals
21:52may be impacting U.S. diplomacy now.
21:57I think there's a lot of misperceptions in the U.S. about Pakistan.
22:02I think it's a very misunderstood place.
22:05I've seen no evidence that our administration in the U.S. has anything but respect for the leadership here.
22:12I view Pakistan as one of those close allies that we need to assist us.
22:20Yes, unbelievable.
22:22But this vote of confidence is for Pakistan and its dysfunctional government.
22:27And the gentleman addressing the Pakistani media is Gentry Beach.
22:31A Texas investor and a longtime confidant and friend of Donald Trump Jr.
22:37who has set his eyes on Pakistani as an attractive investment destination.
22:46President Trump believes in economic diplomacy.
22:49And that's why we're here.
22:51We plan on investing billions of dollars in Pakistan across a number of different areas.
22:58Critical minerals and real estate.
23:00The conversation in Pakistan may be three and a half months old.
23:04But it explains U.S. President Donald Trump's relatively muted reaction.
23:09And some say even a diluted approach to Pakistan-sponsored terror.
23:13I know both. We get along with both the countries very well.
23:19Good relationships with both. And I want to see it stop.
23:22It is clear that the U.S. President is viewing the subcontinent through the lens of dollars and deals.
23:28His economic proxy Gentry Beach not only visited Pakistan in January,
23:33but also met the Pakistani Prime Minister on the sidelines of the world government summit in Dubai on the 11th of February.
23:41My plan is to be the person in the field getting stuff done, working to deliver the economic diplomacy
23:51that America needs to bring to the whole world.
23:55And for me, Pakistan is one of those very unique opportunities that's been overlooked.
24:00What Trump and his allies are eyeing in Pakistan is the real estate business,
24:05particularly high-end luxury properties, the energy sector and the technology sector,
24:10including a big investment in AI.
24:13Also on offer is a Dubai-like free-trade zone.
24:17But the real deal is Pakistan's critical mineral sector.
24:21I believe there's an excess of 50 trillion dollars of rare earths here in this country.
24:26A lot of work needs to be done. We don't have many enemies in the world,
24:29but China's a place that's becoming more difficult for us for sure.
24:35And I would tell you that we are going to take this into our own hands,
24:40and we are going to go out and get the critical minerals that America and American businesses need.
24:46It's not just Pakistan that Trump and his business allies are courting.
24:51Gentry Beach also met Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor of the interim Bangladesh government in January,
24:57promising huge investments in gas and oil exploration business.
25:02He dangled the lure of investments in aerospace, defense and real estate sectors as well.
25:08Gentry has also reached out to Turkey's anti-India President Erdogan.
25:15Business deals were signed with Turkish companies in April,
25:18only to be followed by the $225 million sale of air-to-air missiles to Turkey last week.
25:25Bureau Report, Business Today TV.
25:32COVID-19 is once again making headlines.
25:36There has been a massive surge in COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong in particular,
25:41and it has reached India as well.
25:43Actress Shilpa Sharotkar took to social media on Monday to inform everyone
25:47that she has tested positive for COVID-19.
25:50As per her team, she had high fever and so got tested.
25:54She is now recuperating at home in Mumbai.
25:57But the situation in Hong Kong is severe.
26:00Hong Kong government reported 1,042 positive cases in the week ending May 10th.
26:05In the previous week, the number of cases was 972.
26:10The surge in infections has been continuing since the beginning of March,
26:14when there were 33 cases weekly.
26:17In Hong Kong, weekly cases surged over 30 times in 10 weeks.
26:21Cases also surged by nearly 30% in a week in Singapore.
26:25There are also reports of significant surges in Thailand and China.
26:30Hurricane.
26:31Thanks.
26:33Okay, thank you.
26:36And before I go, I leave you with these images of a life-size rough bronze statue of U.S. First Lady Melania Trump
26:44that disappeared from near her hometown of Samnice in southeastern Slovenia.
26:51The majority of the bronze statue situated in a field had been removed from its tree stump base with just the feet of the statue left.
27:00The bronze statue was unveiled in the year 2020 to replace a wooden figure which was set on fire.
27:07Standing on a 9.2 feet high wooden base, the bronze statue had rough features and a face unrecognizable as the First Lady Melania Trump.
27:17While police is investigating the case, even that unrecognizable statue of Flutus has now vanished.
27:24With that, it's a wrap. Goodbye and take care.
27:30I'll see you next time.
