00:19I am getting ready for the InStyle Image Maker Awards tonight
00:22with my lovely makeup artist, Jenna.
00:25Hi.
00:26And my lovely hairstylist, Clara.
00:28So I have a reference photo of me, but this is me.
00:34This is Loose.
00:35And we were laughing because the top of it
00:36says, short hair, retro side part.
00:39That's whoever Googled it, that's what I wanted.
00:43And then my face popped up.
00:44And I was like, oh, I think this hair is great for tonight.
00:47I mean, my skincare routine is pretty minimal these days.
00:51The eye patches, I don't know if they necessarily do anything,
00:54but it's more just a ritual that makes me feel.
00:57It's little moments of joy.
01:01I used to love the full beat.
01:04Like, give me a lash, give me the contour.
01:07Oh, I think I'm way more minimal these days, right?
01:10I think maybe that just happens.
01:12You just accept yourself a little more with time and age.
01:16And I don't know.
01:17I just kind of naturally gravitated towards a more minimal look.

01:28Oh, we actually, back in the day, wait, do I say it?
01:33We were dating the same person and we didn't know.
01:36We kind of like have the same eyes and features.
01:37So we were like, oh, this dude has a type.
01:41So we knew each other through that.
01:42And then just through the years, I've just seen her at events.
01:45And she's so lovely and talented.
01:47But we always laugh that we didn't like each other for a bit.
01:53No hard feelings all around.
01:54We all do stupid things when we're young.
02:01I like the idea of hair down.
02:03What do you think of it being back?

02:06I mean, it's definitely like more serious back.

02:13because it's always a collaboration.
02:15I always go in with kind of an idea of what I want to do.
02:18But I also like to give the artists a chance
02:20to work their magic as well.
02:22I mean, that's the whole point in working with people you trust
02:25is that you know it's going to be a beautiful collaboration.
02:28And also, they know I changed my mind a time or two.
02:32Anne Hathaway, it was like this video that went viral.
02:35And she obviously has like the most beautiful lips.
02:37And she wanted them to look more alive.
02:40So she took a bobby pin and like just brought blood
02:43to the surface by poking her lips.
02:44So I do this at home sometimes.
02:46Don't come for me if this is like really bad for your lips.
02:49But I put on lip balm and then I take a spoolie.
02:52Or at home, I just use my eyebrow brush, which is disgusting.
02:54But I and I just like buff it.
02:58And then Jenna had these exfoliating wipes.
03:02And you just kind of it takes away all the old skin.
03:04And it brings a lot of blood to the surface of your lips.
03:06And it gives it a nice color, kind of stings, kind of bleeding, but here, like that kind of swoop back.
03:15Or do you like it?
03:16How that reference was that was like here?
03:19I kind of think a little down and that kind of right behind your ear.
03:24Yeah, instead of that way.
03:25I love this event because we're honoring you guys, the artists like behind every favorite actress or your favorite singer are a lineup of people that help them behind the scenes.
03:40And it's just a beautiful night of these visionaries who are leading by example and taking chances.
03:45And so many of my friends are makeup artists, stylists, photographers.

03:52Hair stylists?
03:53Yeah.
03:54Just kidding.
03:55You know, hair, the most important, obviously, and makeup.
03:58That's funny.
04:00I'm excited to see Molly, my stylist, and I think her family is going to be there.
04:04So I'll meet her family.
04:05I think some of her other clients will be there.
04:07I love, I love, okay, cool, I love it.
04:12But I feel like inherently I do have a good sense of style, or at least I know what works for me these days.

04:27I'm going with my lovely friend, Amanda Decadene, who is a brilliant photographer.

04:44I hate it, we're starting over.

05:00It gives it like a diffused look.
05:03So she's buffing out the liner so it's more diffused, so it looks like kind of worn in.
05:08Yeah, not like a harsh line.
05:10We don't love a harsh line around here.
05:12I think there was a lot of my life where I kind of just let whoever was dressing me kind of just put me in whatever.
05:19Because I think I didn't, I didn't know who I was or what I liked really.
05:22So I kind of just was like a little doll and let them just dress me up.
05:26But I think, especially since working with Molly, I know how to say what I like or don't like or what my needs are.
05:33I think I've always had a love of things that are, that tell a story and are older.
05:38But since working with Molly, I've really leaned into that a little bit more.
05:43I wore a lot of tacky things in my life.
05:45I'll just say that we've come a long way since the Forever 21 racks, you know?
05:52When I saw that super, super low rise jeans were back, I said, it can't be.
06:00This can't be true.
06:02The higher the jean, the happier Lucy is.
06:05Come up to my boobs.
06:06I want my jeans touching the bottom of my boobs.
06:08I put makeup on her ears and behind her ears because this never sees sun.
06:14So it's very fair.
06:15And so because her hair is back, you have to put makeup back there.
06:19So it all blends.

06:50But personally, I think we're going to go with this one because they're higher
06:54and it gives this like, I call them Barbie doll feet, harder to walk in, a little more painful.
06:59But yeah, so I think we're going to go with those.
07:01And they're a little small, so I got to squeeze my foot, squeeze my foot and please go in.

07:14Balmain has just always had those incredible silhouettes.
07:16I just loved the silhouette of this dress.
07:18It was just so timeless and classic and it's just got beautiful velvet detail and lace.
07:24And there's like these little hip pads in here.
