00:00I wanted to make sure all skin tones were covered.
00:03I wanted it to look like perfect skin, not like makeup on skin.
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:09And today, we're looking at celebrities who successfully became entrepreneurs after finding fame.
00:15Neither one of us wanted to just put our name on something and say,
00:19hey, good luck. I hope it works out.
00:21We wanted to do something that we can be passionate about.
00:26Number 10, Dwayne Johnson.
00:28The Rock rose to fame during the late 90s when he became one of the most prolific wrestlers of all time.
00:35He then moved on to acting, which proved wildly successful for him.
00:39Strengths, fearless, climbing, speed, boomerang, smoldering intensity.
00:48Alongside this, he's also become a successful businessman.
00:52In 2020, he founded Terra Mana Tequila, which became a highly lucrative endeavor.
00:57It's worth around $3.5 billion and made over $600,000 in sales in one year.
01:05What we want to do really with all of our Terra Mana Tequila is hopefully raise the bar by taking our time,
01:11creating handcrafted, small-batch tequila for everybody to enjoy around the world.
01:15He's also co-owner of the XFL, a football league which has since merged with the USFL, becoming the UFL.
01:23Not only this, but he also co-founded ZOA Energy Drinks, which believes in giving everyone access to Big Dwayne energy.
01:31That's some serious Big Dwayne energy.
01:34Right back at you.
01:35I meant him.
01:35Nice fanny pack.
01:40I know.
01:41Number 9.
01:42Snoop Dogg.
01:43His public image might make you assume Snoop Dogg is too laid back for much entrepreneurship,
01:49but that's far from the truth.
01:51Yeah, I'm willing to deal in and chilling, death jam in the building.
01:54We came to...
01:54Yes, sir.
01:56One of the Dogfather's most successful ventures has been Cali by Snoop,
02:01a wine company that produces all three types of wine.
02:04He and Dr. Dre also partnered to found a gin company, aptly named Gin & Juice.
02:10He also launched a cereal brand, Snoop Cereal.
02:14And this one, I gotta tell you, I think this one is absolutely brilliant,
02:17because you basically combined Froot Loops with Lucky Charms, which is genius, you know?
02:25Hey, we're from the hood, Jimmy.
02:26We're gonna do what we gotta do to get by.
02:28A more conventional business idea of Snoop's was Snazzalo's THC-infused onion rings.
02:35Obviously, he's also dipped his fingers into the cannabis industry,
02:39owning Snoop-branded rolling papers and such.
02:42We're gonna take a break.
02:43A break?
02:43And, uh, yeah, we're gonna take a quick break.
02:45My kind of break?
02:46Uh, yeah, we get whatever kind of break you like.
02:48Number 8.
02:49David Beckham.
02:50Not only is he one of the most recognizable soccer players in history,
02:54but he's also one of the most business savvy.
02:57So it's always been about hard work, and I've taken that from, you know,
03:00the soccer field into the business side of my life.
03:05And, you know, I think if you work hard in life, things happen.
03:09He currently owns Inter-Miami CF,
03:11a team notable for signing famous players like Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
03:16It's been, uh, five years of trying to get the team in Miami going,
03:22uh, and now it's finally on its way.
03:24Now I'm able to get involved.
03:26Beckham also partly owns Salford City Football Club,
03:30although his American team is more successful.
03:33Alongside this, he and his wife Victoria have been highly sought after by dozens of companies.
03:38Partnerships with fragrance companies have been particularly lucrative,
03:42as well as collaborations with brands like Adidas.
03:45He also earned a fortune from letting EA Sports include him in FIFA 21.
03:50Together, our journey continues.
03:54And together, we win as one.
03:57Number 7. Reese Witherspoon
03:59Witherspoon is one of America's richest women,
04:02a feat she achieved not with her acting, but with a keen eye for business.
04:06You should. Do you have a resume?
04:09Yes, I do.
04:10Um, critics.
04:18It's pink.
04:19Oh, and it's scented.
04:20I think it gives it a little something extra, don't you think?
04:23Her first venture was founding production company Type A Films, launching back in 2000.
04:28The focus was on films for women, with Legally Blonde being their first major movie.
04:32It is with passion, courage of conviction, and strong sense of self that we take our next steps into the world.
04:40In 2012, Type A Films was merged with Bruna Papandrea's company, becoming Pacific Standard.
04:46Papandrea left in 2016, giving Witherspoon complete control.
04:50Not long after, she founded Hello Sunshine, her most successful business,
04:56which has been responsible for a plethora of films and shows that place emphasis on women.
05:01In 2021, Witherspoon struck gold, selling part of the company for $900 million.
05:06I think people are going to want to see romance.
05:09They're going to want to believe in reinvention, rebirth.
05:13So we, you know, we kind of invested in those stories during that time,
05:17and so I'm really excited about everything that's coming out next.
05:21Number six, Ryan Reynolds.
05:23I do this the old-fashioned way, with two swords and maximum effort.
05:29Hear the music.
05:30The definitive Deadpool has had a strong acting career,
05:33which has made him a household name across the globe.
05:36Outside of acting, he owns multiple businesses.
05:39We're working really quickly, working with limited budgets,
05:41but we're also acknowledging and playing with the cultural landscape.
05:44So that's a huge part of what we do.
05:46We try to create marketing that's moving at the exact same speed of culture as culture is.
05:51Reynolds founded Maximum Effort Productions in 2018
05:55and got involved in the gin industry during the same year.
05:58The latter proved extremely lucrative
06:00since he sold the company Aviation American Gin for $600 million.
06:05Another sizable paycheck came from selling his Mint Mobile shares to T-Mobile,
06:10a $1.35 billion deal.
06:13Potentially his most fascinating venture was buying Wrexham AFC with Rob McElhenney.
06:19They're a fairly niche Welsh football club,
06:22but Reynolds is motivated to bring them fame and acclaim.
06:24The one of the kindest things I think anybody's ever said was that we were honorary Welshmen.
06:30Wales has really captured a huge piece of my heart.
06:33To be considered part of that group and that community on some level,
06:38any level, means more to me than anything.
06:40Number five, Taylor Swift.
06:43Swift is easily one of the most famous humans alive right now.
06:46Uh-oh. I mean, this, this is getting dangerous.
06:50This is about to start going in my head real fast.
06:53I mean, you just made me feel so, so powerful.
06:59Her music career is extremely successful
07:02and is how she acquired most of her wealth.
07:05It's not just her music, but also her entrepreneurship.
07:08Unlike other entries, Swift doesn't use her fame to push brands like a tequila company.
07:14Instead, she is the brand herself.
07:20For example, she became the cover girl for Nature Luxe
07:26and also has a long-term partnership with Diet Coke and Keds Shoes.
07:31Additionally, real estate makes up a significant portion of her wealth
07:35since she owns approximately $90 million worth of properties.
07:49Number four, Jay-Z.
07:51Jay-Z currently holds the title of the world's richest musician
07:55despite not releasing an album since 2017.
07:58Yeah, I'm talking 5, 6, 0, 0, 0, 0
08:01Back to running circus realm
08:03Now we squid up, hold up
08:05Unlike Taylor Swift, he rarely performs
08:08and achieved his wealth almost entirely from being a savvy businessman.
08:13His empire is too big to summarize entirely,
08:16so it would be easier to list the industries Jay-Z isn't involved in.
08:20You embody a business mogul, if there ever was one,
08:24whether it's the NBA, 4040, brands around the globe,
08:30your own production company and label.
08:32He founded RockAware in 1999 and sold it in 2007 for $204 million.
08:39Jay-Z was also president of Def Jam Recordings for two years,
08:43where he would sign Rihanna.
08:45In 2019, he became hip-hop's first ever billionaire, a well-earned title.
08:50Yeah, I think just doing things that you believe in, you know, things that you understand,
08:55I think that's the best investment.
08:57I heard Warren Buffett say that just the other day,
08:59and I just innately felt that, you know, just invest in things that you understand.
09:04Number 3. Dr. Dre
09:06Dre was a giant of classic hip-hop, making a name for himself as NWA's primary producer.
09:12His solo album, The Chronic, propelled him even further into stardom.
09:20Numerous rap careers were launched by him, including those of Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent.
09:26If it wasn't for him, hip-hop music may have taken a wildly different trajectory,
09:31and wouldn't at all be what it is today.
09:34Because you have taken cats, and you've turned them into household names.
09:39Well, of course it doesn't start.
09:40Of course it doesn't start out like that, you know what I mean?
09:43It's just, it's just what I feel and what I like, and fortunately, you know,
09:47I've been able to be in the studio with, these guys are genius as far as I'm concerned.
09:51Outside of music, his most recognizable brand was Beats by Dre, an audio equipment company.
09:56The brand proved to be extremely lucrative, eventually being bought by Apple in 2014 for an incredible $3 billion.
10:04Anything can happen here, and whatever does, it belongs to those of us who are made in L.A.
10:14Number 2. Rihanna
10:16In the 2000s, Rihanna quickly became a global R&B superstar, but she didn't stop there.
10:23She used her fame to become a billionaire.
10:24In the early 2010s, she made a fortune selling fragrances.
10:29In 2017, she launched Fenty Beauty, a makeup brand with a focus on inclusivity.
10:35Please come in 20 shades.
10:37I wanted every girl to have their color.
10:39I love the consistency.
10:40This one, it goes from cream to powder.
10:43This was wildly successful, inspiring her to found Savage X Fenty,
10:48a lingerie brand that brought her even more wealth.
10:50In 2019, she launched Fenty Clothing, making her the first black woman to own a luxury fashion house under LVMH.
10:59Basically, it's what I like to wear, what looks good on my body, because I'm curvy,
11:03so I know I want it to look good on every body type.
11:07I like to walk into my closet and play and put things together,
11:10so I wanted people to have that same experience here at Fenty.
11:13Despite only lasting two years, she made history.
11:17Alongside this, she's collaborated with various brands like Kodak and Puma.
11:22She's mastered multiple industries in her career, making her far more than just a singer.
11:27Do things your way, but don't ever feel like your wings aren't there.
11:32Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
11:36Gwyneth Paltrow.
11:37From her kitchen, she founded wellness brand Goop, now worth millions.
11:42It's very complicated chef work right here.
11:46This is our first ingestible that is good for your skin.
11:50I love it.
11:51Selena Gomez.
11:52The ex-teen idol now owns the cruelty-free makeup company Rare Beauty.
11:57This one has been a favorite, and I want to say thank you guys so much for using it and loving it as much as I love it,
12:03because it is one of my favorite products.
12:05I keep saying that about everything, so I'm sorry, but I'm just really proud of my eyes.
12:09Kim Kardashian.
12:11Clothing brand Skims and other businesses made Kim Kardashian a billionaire.
12:16This is a cotton dress, so it is more sheer, but because the shapewear is a darker color, you don't see it through.
12:23I feel really good.
12:24I feel like I'm ready to take on whatever my sisters have planned.
12:28Jennifer Garner.
12:29Her children's food brand earns $100 million annually.
12:33I learned a lot from working for Save the Children for the past 11 years.
12:38It defined the need for me out there for kids to have the best nutrition possible.
12:43Jessica Alba.
12:44Alba's The Honest Company was worth $550 million in 2022.
12:49So we've grown through moms telling other moms, hey, this is a great product, and I love it, and it's changed my life.
12:57We are families, and we have kids, and we test our products on us.
13:02And if it doesn't work in our homes, we won't make it.

13:21Number 1.
13:22Oprah Winfrey.
13:23Once upon a time, Oprah was the only black billionaire alive.
13:27She originally came from poverty, being raised by a single teenage mother in Mississippi.
13:33This makes her story deeply inspiring.
13:35At 19 years old, she became not only the youngest news anchor, but also the first black female news anchor.
13:42I was not a good television reporter.
13:45I was too emotional.
13:46I would go out on the stories and, you know, then try to take blankets back to the people.
13:50You were also very young.
13:51You were 21 or 22.
13:52Yes, and I was very also empathetic, and I was always getting written up for getting myself involved in other people's business.
13:59Her world-famous TV show started shortly after and lasted 25 years.
14:04By 32, she was a millionaire, with the rights to her show and even a production company.
14:10Big surprise to me.
14:10I was like, oh my God, this is so exciting.
14:14You mean you got more than that 30,000?
14:16I got more than 30,000.
14:18By the time I was 30.
14:19This was Harpo Productions, which also co-owns the Oprah Winfrey Network with Warner Brothers.
14:24Decades into her career, she remains a global brand, and we've barely even scratched the surface of her monumental empire.
14:33There's no difference between you and me, except that's your platform.
14:36That's your show every day.
14:38So my understanding of that has allowed me to reach everyone.
