00:00Today, tell us about it, what was the idea behind it, what made you write this book?
00:05See, there is a kind of success in which you just follow the external standards of success
00:16without knowing who you are and what you want.
00:19And then you say, if I achieve X, Y, or Z, stuff that others have been telling me to achieve,
00:31then I too will be labeled as successful.
00:34That is one kind of success.
00:36And that we said is the kind of success that involves a lot of consumption
00:40without giving you any satisfaction and has hence resulted in the kind of climate crisis we see today.
00:47And then there is another success in which you first figure out what is it that holds you back
00:54and what is it that you really want.
00:59And it is obvious that for anybody to be a successful one or a winner,
01:06first of all, it has to be seen where the weaknesses are, where the inner defeats are.
01:13If I do not know what keeps me down, what keeps me defeated, where do I keep losing,
01:19if I know none of that, then there is no way I can be successful.
01:26So being successful is first of all about having some self-awareness,
01:31realizing what is it that you need to do and then immersing yourself fully in it.
01:36So there are these two kinds of successes.
01:39Anybody who is born will want to be successful.
01:43We are all born to be winners.
01:45That is also the message of Vedanta.
01:47You are born to conquer.
01:50You are born to achieve the highest.
01:53Yes, you are born to achieve the highest.
01:54Yes, you are born to struggle.
01:56Yes, you are born to succeed.
01:58But a struggle against whom?
02:01Success of what kind?
02:02These are very important questions to answer.
02:05Otherwise, in the absence of any internal standard,
02:10we start following very random kinds of ideas
02:15and invest in those ideas and thereby waste our one precious life.
02:21See, how do I know what am I to do?
02:26How do I call myself successful if I have zero idea of where my targets are really coming from?
02:37So that's what.
02:38Two kinds of successes are there.
02:41And I must know very well what I am chasing before I sink myself fully in chasing it.
02:49So that's what I believe.
