00:00A Mexican Navy sailing ship festooned with lights and flags floated in New York's Hudson River
00:13after crashing into the landmark Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday night.
00:18The collision sheared the top of the ship masts,
00:20killing two people and injuring 17 others on board the ship.
00:24The Mexican Navy had earlier said at least 22 people were injured,
00:29with 19 of them receiving medical attention at local hospitals,
00:32including three who were seriously wounded.
00:36They said no search and rescue operation was carried out,
00:39as none of the passengers fell into the river.
00:43Many onlookers chanted,
00:45Mexico, Mexico, and Yes We Can in Spanish from the shore.
00:54The ship, named A.R.M. Cuauhtemac,
00:59was sailing from New York to Iceland when the river blew it off course.
01:03It then smashed into the road deck of the bridge at about 8.30 p.m.,
01:08with some 277 people on board.
01:12The bridge, which was completed in 1883,
01:15is a popular tourist attraction,
01:17and it is a main conduit between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
