00:00Folks, that brings us to the end of another sentimental journey episode. We
00:04love this opportunity to spend some time with you. We're very very grateful to the
00:08Manor Group who provide us an opportunity to be here every week. Thank
00:12you so much to the Manor Group and thank you also to Redland Sporting Club who
00:15support us so beautifully. Folks, Kim and I love to sing together. We've been doing
00:19it for a long time and when we have the opportunity to get on stage it's all too
00:22seldom these days but when we do, for me it's like putting on an old slipper.
00:27It's just beautiful and so comfortable because I'm so confident with Kim
00:31standing beside me. We're going to close the concert today with a song written by
00:35Kris Kristofferson. Bit of a character that fellow. I think the movie, the movie
00:39A Star Is Born, the character he played in that movie probably wasn't far from
00:43reality. He's a hopeless drunk but he, or he was a hopeless drunk, but he was a
00:48magnificent songwriter and he wrote this song called Help Me Make It Through the
00:50Night in 1970. He also wrote Me and Bobby McGee for his girlfriend at the time,
00:55Janis Joplin. So he's had a pretty colorful, pretty colorful life and this is a
01:01beautiful song. We thank you for being with us today. We hope that you'll join us
01:04next week on Sentimental Journey. Good morning Kim. Good morning Alan. And ladies and
01:08gentlemen, we'll say good morning to you with this beautiful song called Help Me Make It Through the Night.
01:11Take the ribbons from your hair. Shake it loose, let it fall. Lay it soft against my skin.
01:32Like the shadows on the wall. Come and lay down by my side. Till the early morning night. All I'm asking is your time.
02:02Help me make it through the night. Help me make it through the night. I don't care who's right or wrong. And I don't try to understand. Let the devil take tomorrow.
02:29Oh, Lord, tonight I need a friend.
02:36Oh, yesterday is dead and gone. Yesterday is dead and gone. And tomorrow's outside. And tomorrow's outside. It's so sad to be alone.
02:58Oh, so sad to be alone. Help me make it through the night.
03:07Oh, so sad to be alone. Oh, so sad to be alone.
03:16We rehearsed this for weeks.
03:19And you finally got it right.
03:22Oh, so sad to be alone.
03:37Come and lay down by my side
03:44Till the early morning light
03:51All I'm asking is your time
03:58Help me make it through the night
04:07I don't care if it's right or wrong
04:12I don't try to understand
04:19Let the devil take tomorrow
04:26Lord, tonight I need a friend
04:33Oh, yesterday is dead and gone
04:40Yesterday is dead and gone
04:44And tomorrow's out of sight
04:48And tomorrow's out of sight
04:51It's so sad to be alone
04:54Oh, so sad to be alone
04:58Help me make it through the night
05:04Oh, I don't want to be alone
05:09You don't want to be alone
05:13Help me make it through the night
05:18Oh, I don't want to be alone
