Large tornado touches down in Missouri

This large tornado was caught touching down live on the AccuWeather Network by Tony Laubach from Blodgett, Missouri, on May 16. The central and eastern U.S. continue to face a high tornado risk.

00:00tornado on the ground this is a biggie folks it's coming right now this again is making an approach

00:04to i-55 the location pretty much the exact same as where we were just moments ago this is going

00:10to pass hopefully just to my north but you can see this tornado ongoing right now this is live

00:15on camera a very very uh doesn't look too terribly strong i'm not seeing a lot of debris lofted up

00:22but certainly this is not going to be a good thing if you get caught in this again this is going to

00:25be just uh outside south of haywood city is where this is currently at right now again this is a

00:32full condensed tornado you were seeing this live here on the accuweather network

00:37this is the second uh tornado we've seen here in just the last few minutes and this is uh

00:42strengthening it appears to definitely be strengthening you can see the debris coming up here

00:46yeah again so if you're a hayward city blaget and points to the east again confirmed tornado this

00:55is happening as we speak right now this is going to pass just off to my north but this is going to

01:01cross i-55 if this continues on so this is something you definitely are going to want to make sure

01:07you are waiting for a lot of traffic right now uh currently sitting kind of in this area

01:13so a lot of folks are seeing this again you're seeing this live here you can really tell

01:18you can't miss this and we are seeing debris there is some pretty good debris starting to be lofted up

01:23out of this thing now so i would say this is a strong tornado for sure lots of debris in this storm

01:29uh you can't tell what uh some trees definitely being flipped around in there

01:35but this is definitely a strong tornado you were watching here

01:40yeah big time again this is not uh this is still west of i-55 it's going to be

01:47very close to i-55 here soon lots of debris lots of tree debris it looks like here we're kind of in a

01:53sparsely populated area so there is some good news there but unfortunately again we've got a couple

02:00of towns blaget you were in the path of this i'm going to flip around here shortly just as this thing

02:06starts to cross because again this is going to cross the interstate pretty soon so i'm going to go and

02:11flip around but yeah large tornado in progress this is heading toward i-55
