00:00Tis the sweet strawberry season.
00:01I have five of the easiest dessert recipes
00:04you're gonna wanna make,
00:05and none of them are just a spoonful
00:07of strawberries over angel food cake.
00:09I'm gonna start with a classic, a glazed strawberry pie.
00:13This one is the best use of the fresh strawberry.
00:16It's gonna burst, and it needs the fewest ingredients.
00:19All you really need is a store-bought
00:21graham cracker crust and a little Jell-O.
00:24Besides that, you have everything on hand,
00:25like sugar and cornstarch.
00:27So I'm gonna start just by cutting up some strawberries.
00:29I've already washed these.
00:30I like them kind of chunky here.
00:33That way you get a big burst of juiciness in each bite.
00:36Plus it just looks really pretty in this pie crust.
00:38When you're working with strawberries,
00:39you do want to wash them, of course,
00:42but you don't really wanna wash them too far in advance
00:44because they hold in a lot of that moisture,
00:47and then they just mold really quickly.
00:49I just like to wash them right before I use them.
00:51You need about six cups total of sliced strawberries.
00:55And now we just whip up our little Jell-O mixture,
00:58and this is gonna act as the glue to hold all this together in the pie crust.
01:02You're not using the whole box.
01:03You want it to just be like a glaze almost.
01:06So we're just gonna combine some water with two-thirds cup sugar,
01:11and then four tablespoons each of the Jell-O and cornstarch.
01:15And you want to dissolve the cornstarch before you bring it up to a boil.
01:19I'm gonna bring this up to a boil and then take it off the heat and combine it with the strawberry.
01:24You just want to make sure every strawberry is coated.
01:28All right, pour it in our pie crust.
01:31Be sure you get all that glaze worked in so that it will glue it together while it chills.
01:38Now it just goes into the fridge.
01:40You want to chill it for at least two to four hours or until it's completely set.
01:44Look how pretty this is.
01:46All set up and ready to be enjoyed.
01:49Glazed strawberry pie.
01:51This is that.
01:52Look how pretty she is.
01:54Top it off with some whipped cream.
01:56Classic dessert with a classic garnish.
02:00If you want the dessert that tastes like a burst of summer, this is the one.
02:06God, that's good.
02:13That is good.
02:15I didn't even expect it to be that good.
02:17When the Jell-O marries with the strawberries, it just tastes like so like addictingly fresh.
02:24Like this one's going to be hard to like stop eating.
02:26Starting off strong.
02:28Let's keep going.
02:29I've got three words that scream easy and delicious.
02:33Strawberry cheesecake dump cake.
02:37And you know if it's a dump cake, it's going to be easy.
02:39Scratch it.
02:40Start with strawberry pie filling.
02:44And as the name describes, dump it on in.
02:47And then because the strawberries are a plenty, I'm going to add fresh strawberries in.
02:53So I'm going to chop up about a cup of strawberries and add them in.
02:57Just kind of mix those in and spread it out in an even layer.
03:01For the cheesecake layer, it's just whipping together a block of cream cheese that's been softened well.
03:06A little sugar.
03:09An egg.
03:10And vanilla.
03:11You know, the same things you would put in a cheesecake filling.
03:15Okay, then you spoon this over the strawberries.
03:21And this doesn't have to be perfect.
03:23That way you get little kind of like dollops of cheesecake throughout.
03:29And then you just pour the cake mix right on top.
03:32Don't stir it.
03:33You know the rules when it comes to dump cake.
03:35And then 10 tablespoons of butter melted as evenly as possible.
03:41Get this butter in there.
03:42All right, into the oven we go.
03:44This goes in at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until it's all browned, gooey, and bubbly.
03:49And then you're going to let it stand for about 10 minutes before we serve it.
03:52It's going to be really hard to pick a favorite of one of these today.
03:57Look at this.
03:59Look at this.
04:01To fight the temptation of digging in right now is going to take a lot of willpower.
04:07But it is so hot.
04:08You have to let it come together to really get the full experience.
04:12You get the saucy, gooey goodness.
04:14You see like the creamy cheesecake under there.
04:17But then the best part of the dump cake is that top, that buttery, crusty top.
04:22This is like going to be one of my favorites of the day just because I love all these things.
04:30And this is my favorite kind of dessert to also eat for breakfast.
04:35Look at that perfect bite.
04:37Oh my God.
04:38Look at that.
04:39When you get that buttery, salty goodness in the crust on the top, paired with the sweetness
04:53and then that like creamy mix with that like burst of juicy fruit in there.
05:0012 out of 10.
05:04My favorite kind of desserts to make are the ones that look way harder than they actually
05:09were to make.
05:10This is that.
05:11And it brings nostalgia.
05:12Strawberry Crunch Ice Cream Cake.
05:14It is a big version of the ice cream bars with the crunchy strawberry crunch on the outside
05:22that you would get off the ice cream truck.
05:24I'm very proud of this creation.
05:25So I hope you love it.
05:27We start by making the strawberry crunch.
05:32You get the golden Oreos and you crush them all.
05:35I'll do like half at a time.
05:40Okay, add it to the bowl.
05:49I'm going to save the second half of the cookies.
05:51And to the first half, you're going to stir in some strawberry jello.
05:56Basically, we're flavoring half of the crumbs.
05:59To this, we're going to add in a stick of melted butter and we're creating like almost
06:04like a strawberry granola situation or like a crumble.
06:08I'm also going to flavor it up with just a splash of almond extract, a quarter teaspoon
06:12and a little pinch of salt.
06:14A little almond extract goes a long way.
06:16This goes onto a baking sheet and it goes into an oven 350 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes.
06:22You just want to kind of toast it up like a cookie crust in a pie.
06:26All right, here is what it looks like and you have to let it cool completely.
06:30And then we just crumble it up again and mix in those other vanilla ones.
06:34All right, so once it's mostly cooled, you're going to have like some bigger chunks.
06:38So I'm just going to pop it back in the food processor for just like...
06:46Now, we combine them with the other half of the cookie crumbs.
06:54I mean, does that not look exactly like the real deal?
06:58This is going to be a little more than you need for the cake, but save the extra.
07:02You'll probably just want to start eating it by the spoonful, but it really is a great like ice cream topping.
07:07The base of the cake doesn't get any easier than just using ice cream sandwiches.
07:12Vanilla cake with the vanilla inside, not chocolate.
07:17So the hardest part of this whole recipe is unwrapping all these ice cream sandwiches.
07:22Put down the first layer of ice cream sandwiches.
07:25Cut this one in half.
07:28Or wouldn't you know, there's just enough for a little snack.
07:37I don't make the rules, it just makes a perfect ice cream cake.
07:40It's better.
07:42Now I'm going in with some strawberry ice cream topping,
07:47or you can use just strawberry jam or strawberry syrup.
07:52I'm also going to lay in some fresh strawberries.
07:56I have no rhyme or reason to how I'm cutting these strawberries today.
08:00Now, some of our crunchies.
08:05Then, another layer of ice cream sandwiches.
08:10Then another layer of cream.
08:12You might be looking at these ingredients and thinking that this could be a little pricey.
08:19But to that I say, you can buy the store version of like all of these ingredients.
08:26You don't have to buy like the name brand.
08:27This is a tall, hearty dessert.
08:30This is going to feed a lot of people.
08:33I recommend freezing this overnight, but you want to go probably at least six hours.
08:38Look at this one.
08:41This is the one I can probably already tell you that's going to take the cake.
08:46Pun intended.
08:48That's an impressive ice cream cake.
08:51The crunchies throughout, I mean, this has it all going on.
08:53Cheers.
08:59I mean, it's creamy with a slight bit of crunch, but it feels like a cake and ice cream all together.
09:04All we need is the ice cream man music.
09:07Gonna be hard to beat this one.
09:09For real, for real.
09:11Okay, while all these are easy, this one is the easiest of the day.
09:16I couldn't let an episode go by without a strawberry shortcake, but this one isn't your typical strawberry shortcake.
09:22Because instead of shortcake or biscuits, the guy behind the camera's eyes got really big.
09:28Glazed donut strawberry shortcake.
09:30This is the ultimate no-cook dessert.
09:33Because the donuts are sweeter than, you know, a typical biscuit or something else you might use,
09:38we're not going to sweeten the whipped cream or the strawberries quite as much.
09:42And it's not about sweetening the strawberries, but it's about creating that, like, juicy goodness.
09:47And you need a little sugar to help that happen.
09:49I'm just going to stir in one to two tablespoons of sugar.
09:52And this does not take long, probably about, like, ten minutes or so the juices will start coming out.
10:01While the berries soak, you can make some fresh whipped cream.
10:03It is simply heavy cream with a little bit of sugar.
10:06So use half the amount you normally would just to keep it from being too sweet.
10:11And then we build it on the donut.
10:13These are brioche donuts.
10:15And they're actually a little less sweet than the, like, crispy creams.
10:19Take your donut, cut it in half.
10:21Half down.
10:23Little whipped cream.
10:25See the juices that have accumulated?
10:30Okay.
10:31A little more whipped cream.
10:33The top of the donut.
10:35A little more whipped cream.
10:37And then finish with berries.
10:41I know, y'all.
10:42It hurts so good, doesn't it?
10:45Now that is strawberry shortcake.
10:49I hope you got a good look at it, because it's about to get messy.
10:52You know this is going to be good.
10:56It's another dessert fit for breakfast.
11:00Good move not to over-sweeten the berries or the whipped cream.
11:04I mean, you can't beat a classic strawberry shortcake.
11:06Literal dessert of summer.
11:08For my final trick, I'm taking our viral sensation and giving it a strawberry twist.
11:14Strawberry Neiman Marcus bars.
11:16Or Neiman Marcus cake.
11:18Or ooey gooey butter cake.
11:20Or whatever you want to call it.
11:21But it's dead gum delicious.
11:23And like all good easy desserts, starts with a cake mix.
11:27Strawberry cake mix, unlike the original that has just vanilla cake mix.
11:31Two eggs.
11:33Mix it up.
11:34This part is going to be really thick.
11:40And I'm going to spread this into a baking dish.
11:42You want to line it with some parchment paper.
11:44That way you can easily remove them and cut them into little bars.
11:48Dump and spread.
11:49You can spread it out with just the back of a spoon or an offset spatula.
11:53But to make this easier, spray it with a little non-stick cooking spray.
11:57That way it doesn't stick to your utensil.
12:02First layer down.
12:03Now you make the second layer.
12:04All right, for the second layer, this one's going to get poured over the top.
12:07It starts with powdered sugar.
12:09Two more eggs.
12:13Cream cheese.
12:14You want to make sure it's well softened.
12:16And vanilla.
12:24Okay.
12:26Pour this over this and pop it in the oven.
12:30350 degrees for about half an hour.
12:33Here's the finished product.
12:34These look and smell delicious.
12:36But you're really going to be impressed when you see how they look on the inside.
12:40The hard part is you got to wait on them to cool.
12:44See how pretty it looks on the inside.
12:46The top stays like kind of creamy.
12:49Which is why sometimes it's called ooey gooey.
12:52And it mixes with this bottom part that has the texture of like a brownie.
12:57I really wish I had a cup of coffee right now.
12:59Cause this and that are just match made in heaven.
13:02I mean, truthfully, you can make this recipe with any cake mix, but the strawberry is like 10 out of 10.
13:16We did it.
13:17Five for five.
13:18Every one of these strawberry desserts are a hit.
13:20And don't forget how incredibly easy they were to make.
13:23You've got to try one, if not all of these.
13:27And let me know what you think.
13:29In the meantime, I'm going to have to check myself into a sugar coma.
13:33Dang, this is good though.
