Gravesend prankster faces global football banning order after England match stunt

A notorious YouTube prankster from Gravesend who invaded an England match wearing a Three Lions’ kit of his own has appeared in court to protest a bid by police to give him a football banning order. Finn Macdiarmid reports.

00:06Ireland and that same man interrupting an England vs India cricket match and playing

00:11some inappropriate noises on BBC's Match of the Day.

00:14But did you know the pitch invading prankster is actually from Kent.

00:22Daniel Jarvis or Jarvo from Gravesend has become infamous for his sports stopping antics

00:26where he sneaks into and disrupts events.

00:29But has recently come into a legal battle after police have put in a bid to give him

00:33a football banning order, which he's protesting.

00:35They're trying to put me on a football banning order but I've not been arrested.

00:39I've just got a letter for him to say I've got to turn up today.

00:41It's supposed to be a civil matter but it's in a criminal court.

00:46The judge was actually really nice in there and that's really a change.

00:49But I get a bit paranoid because I've had a nice judge last time and then he threw the

00:54book at me.

00:55And I'm not really doing nothing wrong, I'm just making people laugh.

00:58You get a few people, oh you need to grow up and stuff like that but I'm making most

01:02people happy.

01:04If the banning order does get issued, Jarvo could be stopped from attending regulated

01:08football matches, both here in the UK and internationally.

01:11He's said he gets a buzz from what he does but found the fact he was being punished for

01:16an international match unfair.

01:18That's a different jurisdiction.

01:20Whatever I do abroad, it's not in their jurisdiction.

01:23I know they can say it's Air England's squad but if an England player punches someone on

01:31the pitch, do they get a football banning order?

01:33No, they don't.

01:34But it's not just national events he's disrupted.

01:36He's also taken credit for interrupting coverage of the BBC's Liverpool v Wolves FA Cup match

01:41back in 2023, again with more inappropriate noises.

01:45He even managed to grab a selfie with French President Emmanuel Macron while sneaking into

01:49the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

01:53While his protest for the potential banning order awaits a full hearing, he was given bail

01:57until then, with the conditions he shouldn't disrupt any sporting event and is banned from

02:02attending any senior men's National England football match until a final decision is made.
