00:00Hi there. It's likely to be a grey start for many of us this morning, but the cloud will tend to retreat back to the east.
00:07It will be a slow process in some locations. Eventually, most places will brighten up.
00:14High pressure at the moment continues to bring dry and settled weather across the UK.
00:20One or two exceptions to the dry theme, though, as we start things off, because the low cloud across northeast England,
00:25southeast Scotland likely to bring a few drizzly outbreaks, especially over east-facing hills.
00:31Elsewhere, a lot of cloud first thing, but it does, by mid-afternoon, generally retreat back to the east coast, where it remains throughout much of the day.
00:39That, combined with the chilly North Sea wind, is going to limit temperatures on that east coast, mid-teens.
00:45But where we've got the sunshine elsewhere, high teens, low 20s.
00:49Warmer spots, most likely western Scotland, 23 or 24 Celsius, and unbroken sunshine for western Scotland,
00:57northern Ireland, parts of West Wales, and the far southwest throughout Saturday.
01:01We end Saturday with blue skies for the vast majority then, but as we go into the evening, as the sun goes down,
01:08the land cools down, we're going to see that low cloud of the east creep back in.
01:12It's a fickle beast, and as a result, it's quite difficult to tell exactly where it's going to end up overnight.
01:19But most likely, eastern and central parts of the UK will see areas of low cloud, whilst further west, it will remain clearer.
01:28And under those clear skies overnight, temperatures dipping into the mid-single figures, perhaps a little lower,
01:33in some of those sheltered spots of western and central Scotland and Northern Ireland.
01:37Where we've got the cloud, though, 8 or 9 Celsius, and continuing to feel on the cold side, I suspect, first thing Sunday, down that North Sea coast.
01:45The cloud will hang around for the first few hours of the day, before eventually lifting and breaking, retreating back to the east coast.
01:52Again, some cloud continues to affect the northeast of Scotland, one or two drizzly showers,
01:58and there's always the chance of a shower breaking out across parts of southern Scotland, very isolated.
02:03For the vast majority, it's simply a dry and increasingly sunny day on Sunday, with temperatures similar to Saturday.
02:09We're talking about high teens, low 20s widely, perhaps the mid-20s for western Scotland.
02:15So, feeling very pleasant, but bear in mind, high UV levels where we've got that sunshine,
02:19so you might want to protect yourself if you're spending time outdoors.
02:23And then into Monday, Tuesday, the chance of a few showers here and there,
02:27otherwise high pressure continues to bring dry and settled weather until the end of the week.
