00:00Only a truly religious person can be secular in real term.

00:05When you say that X is a secular person, what you mean is that he is prepared to read the Quran even if he is a Hindu.

00:13And that he is prepared to respectfully go to the Upanishads even if he is a Muslim, right?

00:19When you say that a country Y is a secular state, what do you mean?

00:23You mean that in that country, people are not discriminated on the basis of their professed religious association, right?

00:31If this is what you want, then you should be deeply religious.

00:34In secularism, you want to be equanimous.

00:37But who teaches you equanimity? Religion.

00:39In secularism, you want not to hurt the other even if the other is holding beliefs that go against yours.

00:47But who teaches you Ahinsa? Religion.

00:49So obviously you see that secularism and communalism are at odds with each other, but not secularism and religiosity.
