00:00ChatGPT just got a major upgrade with exportable, deep-research PDFs.
00:07Alibaba's QuenChat also massively improved its research capabilities.
00:11And Salesforce unveiled XGenSmall, a compact but powerful AI solving big enterprise headaches.
00:18Freepik's new FLight7B is now faster, sharper, and lighter.
00:22Meanwhile, Google's Gemini is jumping from phones into cars, watches, TVs, and XR headsets.
00:28TikTok introduced AI Alive to animate your photos.
00:32And Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot is now dancing and ready for real-world tasks.
00:38AI's leveling up again, and we've got all the details, so let's talk about it.
00:44First up is Gemini, Google's AI assistant.
00:47Now, Gemini has already been hugely popular on Android phones, right?
00:52But Google's taking it even further by expanding Gemini across more devices.
00:57Soon you'll have Gemini right there on your smartwatch with Wear OS.
01:01Why? Well, say you're cooking, your hands are covered in flour, and your phone's out of reach,
01:05you can still talk naturally to Gemini and get instant help.
01:08You can tell it things like, remind me I'm using Locker 43,
01:11or even ask about a restaurant your friend mentioned, without pulling your phone out mid-workout.
01:17And it's not just your watch.
01:20Gemini's coming to Android Auto, and this one's really cool.
01:23While driving, Gemini will understand natural conversations, so you don't have to worry about
01:28precise commands.
01:30It can even find a charging station near a park on your way to the post office,
01:34summarize incoming messages, or translate your replies into another language on the fly.
01:39Soon enough, Gemini Live could be reading out news summaries or book synopses during your commute.
01:45Oh, and TV isn't left out. Later this year, Gemini will roll out to Google TV,
01:50helping you find age-appropriate action movies or pulling up perfect YouTube videos
01:55when your kids ask endless questions about space.
01:58Plus, Gemini's even going immersive, joining Android XR, a new platform developed with Samsung.
02:04This means when Samsung launches its first headset, you can plan vacations surrounded by maps,
02:09videos, and local tips, creating full itineraries effortlessly.
02:14Switching gears to TikTok, they're getting into the AI scene too, launching something called AI Alive.
02:20This feature turns your static photos into dynamic, immersive videos directly in TikTok stories.
02:27Let's say you snap a great sunset photo. AI Alive transforms it into a moving scene with shifting
02:33colors, drifting clouds, and ambient sounds of waves crashing.
02:37Even group selfies become lively, animated memories showing subtle expressions of your friends.
02:42And don't worry, safety's a big priority.
02:45Every creation goes through multiple moderation checks, gets an AI-generated label for transparency,
02:52and embeds metadata so it's always clear if content was AI-generated, even if someone
02:57downloads it off-platform.
03:00But here's a fun one.
03:00Tesla also dropped a new video showcasing its humanoid robot Optimus performing a detailed dance
03:07routine. While dancing itself isn't exactly crucial for factory operations, it's a clear demonstration
03:13of Optimus's improved agility, precise movements, and realistic range of motion.
03:19According to Milan Kovacs, the head of Tesla's robotics division, the robot's dance moves were entirely
03:25trained through simulation using reinforcement learning.
03:29And while viewers might notice a safety cable attached, it's only there to prevent potential
03:33damage if the robot loses balance. Optimus is fully self-supporting during the performance.
03:39Earlier this year, Tesla rolled out the third generation of Optimus,
03:43significantly upgraded from previous models. It now features a hand with 22 degrees of freedom,
03:49a major improvement from the 11 in earlier versions, making it capable of delicate tasks like
03:54grasping intricate objects and handling tools more efficiently. Additionally, the new model includes
04:00a self-recharging capability, enabling Optimus to manage its own power without manual intervention,
04:06crucial for continuous industrial and home applications. Tesla's advanced AI algorithms also
04:13received a major upgrade, allowing the robot to learn new tasks naturally, rather than relying solely on
04:19pre-programmed instructions. Elon Musk has previously mentioned plans for deploying
04:23thousands of these robots in Tesla factories within the next year or two. Their main role would be
04:29handling repetitive, hazardous, or monotonous tasks, thus significantly boosting production
04:34efficiency and workplace safety. Moreover, Musk and Tesla have ambitions beyond industrial applications,
04:41suggesting Optimus might soon find a place in everyday life, helping around the house,
04:45performing chores like mowing lawns, fetching groceries, walking dogs, or even babysitting.
04:52Of course, this cutting-edge technology doesn't come cheap. Each Optimus robot will cost roughly
04:58$20,000, though Tesla is exploring more accessible rental and leasing options to reach a wider market.
05:05And next, Alibaba's Quenchat AI just got smarter too, launching a new deep research feature.
05:12This new feature lets you dive deeper into pretty much any topic you're curious about, be it historical
05:18details, theoretical concepts, or real-world applications. After you ask your initial question,
05:24Quen will prompt you to specify what exactly you're interested in, helping narrow things down
05:29to the most relevant information. If you're unsure or just want something interesting and new,
05:33it can even surprise you with unique insights or unexpected facts. Once your query is set,
05:40Quen compiles an extensive and thorough report, gathering detailed information from a variety
05:44of sources, all while you grab a coffee or simply take a quick breather. The result is a neatly packaged
05:50informative breakdown that's ready when you return, perfect for quick study sessions, work projects,
05:56or even satisfying random curiosity. Quenchat itself is part of Alibaba Cloud's broader Quen series of
06:03Advanced Large Language Models , which first launched in April 2023. The platform's known for its
06:10multi-modal capabilities, flexible accessibility, high performance, and strong support for various
06:17business and personal uses. With this latest update, Alibaba aims to further streamline how users access
06:23comprehensive research, saving valuable time and enhancing productivity. Whether you're tackling detailed work
06:29tasks, exploring new areas of interest, or deepening your understanding of complex subjects.
06:35Speaking of deep research, OpenAI recently made a significant upgrade to ChatGPT's own
06:40deep research feature. Users have always appreciated how ChatGPT can pull together detailed, well-structured
06:46reports on any topic, from serious research tasks to planning trips or even checking customer reviews on
06:52airlines. But until now, managing these reports could be a hassle since they weren't easy to
06:57organize or export neatly, OpenAI's new update directly addresses that problem. You can now export your
07:04entire deep research report directly as a neatly formatted PDF. These PDFs aren't basic either,
07:11they're professionally structured, including images, tables, link citations, and clear references to all
07:17sources used. This export feature is already available globally to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, streamlining the
07:25user experience significantly. It might seem like a subtle addition, but it's a practical upgrade that
07:30simplifies organizing in-depth research. Whether you're handling business tasks, school projects, or just
07:36managing personal information more effectively. Now, on the business front, Salesforce is addressing a
07:41significant challenge many companies face when implementing enterprise AI. Skyrocketing GPU costs and data
07:49privacy issues. To tackle this, they've introduced a new AI model called X-Gen Small, specifically
07:56optimized for businesses needing a cost-effective yet powerful AI solution. Instead of continually scaling
08:03up to bigger, resource-heavy models, Salesforce went the opposite direction, creating a compact but
08:08highly efficient AI that still packs plenty of performance. The key strategy here is what Salesforce calls
08:16small but long, essentially shrinking the model's size to reduce hardware demands while greatly extending
08:23its context processing capabilities. Unlike many large models that require external retrieval mechanisms
08:30and can suffer performance drops when dealing with long documents, X-Gen Small smoothly handles
08:36extensive internal information without external dependencies, significantly reducing inference cost.
08:42Salesforce developed X-Gen Small through a detailed and multi-step pipeline, beginning with careful
08:48data curation. From an enormous corpus of several trillion tokens, they filtered and fine-tuned the data
08:56rigorously, balancing diverse content types including code, mathematical texts, natural language documents,
09:04and high-quality specialized information. After that, they used scalable TPU-based pre-training and advanced
09:11length extension techniques allowing the model to maintain high performance even at extremely long contexts
09:17up to 128,000 tokens. Once pre-trained, X-Gen Small underwent further refinement using supervised
09:25instruction fine-tuning and large-scale reinforcement learning to enhance its practical reasoning capabilities.
09:32The result is a versatile model suitable for complex enterprise tasks, from analyzing entire code repositories,
09:38to interpreting lengthy research papers, without sacrificing accuracy, context awareness, or speed.
09:45FreePic has also jumped into the spotlight with their latest AI release, called F-Lite 7B. It's an advanced
09:53image generation model distilled directly from their larger original F-Lite version. But here's what's
09:59interesting. Even though it has about 30% fewer parameters compared to the bigger version, the new model
10:05manages to generate images just as detailed but faster and with significantly better memory efficiency.
10:12FreePic used a method known as knowledge distillation to maintain the larger model's quality while
10:18streamlining the architecture. This means you're getting rapid generation without losing the sharpness
10:23or visual accuracy of the original model. They've also made sure it's fully compatible with popular tools like
10:29diffusers and ComfyUI, giving users flexibility to integrate it seamlessly into existing workflows.
10:36The company suggests that the best results come from using longer, more descriptive prompts.
10:42Short, vague prompts might lead to sub-optimal outputs. Additionally, generating images at resolutions above 1
10:48megapixel greatly enhances overall image fidelity and clarity. And importantly, they've kept their copyright-safe,
10:56SFW generation characteristics intact, ensuring generated content is both reliable and suitable for
11:03professional and creative environments. Honestly, the AI world feels like it's moving faster every day,
11:10but it's exciting to see how these advancements are becoming practical, helpful, and genuinely entertaining.
