Kevin James (King of Queens) spielt in Guns Up den Ex-Polizisten Ray, der mit dem Feuer spielt: In der Action-Komödie hat er sich nämlich für einen kleinen Zuverdienst mit der Mafia eingelassen. Dass er sich einen Namen als Schuldeneintreiber gemacht hat, hat die Familie lange über Wasser gehalten. Einfach so wieder aus dem kriminellen Geschäft wieder auszusteigen, ist allerdings nicht drin und so muss er seine Ehefrau Alice (Christina Ricci) und die zwei Kinder innerhalb einer Nacht aus der Stadt heraus in Sicherheit bringen.
