00:15What can you expect in Terminal 5?

00:18First and foremost, it will be a mega terminal.

00:22In terms of land area, T5 will be as big as all our current terminals combined.

00:30So it will expand Changi's current capacity by more than 50% and allow us to serve about 50 million more passengers annually.

00:39And we will make good use of this additional capacity.

00:43Currently, SIA groups' flights are split across the three terminals of Changi Airport, as all of you know.

00:51These flights can now be consolidated at T5, reducing transit and transfer time for passengers.

00:58So T5 will be the new home for SIA group.

01:03And there will be space for other carriers to grow their fleets at T5 and across Changi.

01:10With more flights and hopefully more carriers at Changi, we can grow our network of connections.

01:17Now Changi has around 170 city links.

01:21The number is growing, and with T5, we will be able to reach our target of reaching more than 200 city links by the mid-2030s.

01:32T5 is not just about size.

01:35It will be a smart terminal.

01:38It will incorporate state-of-the-art airport systems and automate passenger-facing and back-end functions like baggage handling processes.

01:45It will leverage intelligent systems and data to optimize the efficiency, safety, as well as the passenger experience.

01:54T5 will be a sustainable terminal.

01:58We will use smart building management systems with AI-optimized air conditioning, intelligent lighting, and hybrid cooling systems.

02:07We will power it with more clean energy.

02:12The team is studying the feasibility of installing a solar system on its roof.

02:16And if that happens, it will be the largest rooftop system in Singapore.

02:21And of course, T5 will be a connected terminal.

02:25It will be connected from one end to another and to the rest of Changi.

02:29And there will be new possibilities for travel beyond Singapore.

02:34Because through the Thompson East Coast Line, we can connect T5 to the upcoming JB Singapore Rapid Transit System,

02:42or the RTS link terminal at Woodlands North.

02:45And because T5 will be closer to the Tanamera Ferry Terminal,

02:50we can also explore seamless air-sea transfers to destinations in neighboring countries.
