00:08Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Many across our nation are outraged at the $400 million luxury airplane,
00:16the Palace in the Sky, that President Trump just accepted from the nation of Qatar.
00:22That's against the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution.
00:25And he took the bribe in plain sight.
00:28Meanwhile, our nation is very short on air controllers who are trained.
00:33Look at Newark, New Jersey.
00:36They have had radar failures, repeated flight delays due to serious staffing shortages.
00:42This is true across our country.
00:43But what does the Secretary of Transportation, Mr. Duffy, say?
00:47He said, what you see in Newark is going to happen in other places across the country.
00:52My reply, excuses aren't an answer.
00:56So, going forward, what do we need to do?
01:00As of May 1st, we are 3,000 air controllers short in this country.
01:05Workforce is aging.
01:06They're stretched thin and understaffed, exacerbated by doge, buyouts, and firings.
01:11The FAA just simply doesn't have the people, and it's going to get worse as people travel this summer.
01:17While Newark grabs headlines, the pain is felt across America.
01:21Mr. Speaker, let President Trump sell the plane, $400 million,
01:25and put that money into training more air controllers for their safety and for the safety of this nation.
