Farmdrive receives New Product Innovation Award at Balmoral Show

The New Product Innovation Award, sponsored by Farming Life and Farm Week, was presented to Farmdrive at Balmoral Show on Wednesday.

00:00Congratulations on the award that you've won, New Product Innovation.

00:05Can you tell us a bit about FarmDrive?

00:07Yeah, so we're both called Garth.

00:10We both created a livestock management software for using our own personal farms.

00:14And over the last two years it's just grown phenomenally across Northern Ireland

00:18where now we have over 20% of the cattle population using FarmDrive.

00:22So it's basically a livestock management tool for farmers to allow them to track their compliance,

00:26sustainability and all that will lay their profit on their farm.

00:29And then we pass that information down if the farmer allows us to

00:33for supply chains and retailers to help with their scope emissions and basically food supply security.

00:41And what retailers are you working with?

00:44We currently work with Marks & Spencers through ABP

00:47and we also do work with Foil Research and their Research Innovation Farm in Cookstown.

00:53And any big plans then for the future?

00:56Yeah, we'd like to grow into Europe and maybe DES as well.

01:02And what does winning this award mean for yourselves, the recognition?

01:06It's phenomenal because it's the first time they've ever launched a competition like this at Balmoral Show

01:11which means something special to us for being so new as well.

01:14But it basically allows us to get a better foothold especially with the Farm Week

01:19and allows us to push our product out to those that maybe haven't heard about it before.
