00:27Mais first, je suis ici à Hotel Park,
00:30le site de la biggest ever addition
00:32de la Qatar International Food Festival.
00:35Et cette année, c'est l'heure avec des nouvelles nouvelles features.
00:38Let's go find them.
00:41Ces fireworks kept visitors et foodies entertained
00:44pour 10 straight jours,
00:46décorant le night sky pour tout le monde
00:48enjoyant les couleurs des couleurs dans les couleurs
00:51et les couleurs différentes sur leurs palettes.
00:57Plus, environ 100 stalls,
02:12en Doha,
02:14dans ce fantastique et unique festival.
02:16On voit la vibra de la gens,
02:18c'est très bon,
02:20la gens sont super amigables.
02:22L'ambiance est unique.
02:24et je suis très heureux de participer
02:28à la ville de Michelin.
02:30Je pense que le plat est quelque chose,
02:32mais je pense que le contexte global
02:34et l'esprit de la fiesta,
02:36de ce festival,
02:38c'est le plus important.
02:40Le plus haut est le 1 Michelin-starre Araya.
02:42Le restaurant est en Singapore,
02:44mais ses roots
02:46aussi trace back à South America,
02:48où chef Francisco Araya
02:50dit que le classic empanada
02:52est le meilleur.
02:54C'est un peu plus casual,
02:55un peu plus street food
02:56que nous faisons en Chile.
02:58Donc, nous avons un petit empanada
02:59avec le beef.
03:00On top, il y a une sauce
03:01appelée,
03:02qui nous aide à l'empanada.
03:04L'empanada est juste wonderful.
03:06L'empanada est juste
03:07un petit peu de love
03:08que vous devriez.
03:09Afrikaner.
03:12Outside the Michelin Village
03:14are at least five other zones
03:15with endless dining options,
03:17including Global Bites,
03:19featuring international restaurants
03:21and eateries.
03:23Visitors can get a taste of delicacies
03:25from all over the world,
03:27from trendy tenders
03:28of Miami's soul fly chicken
03:30to the diverse offerings
03:31of Africana from the UK.
03:35Africana is an African-inspired restaurant,
03:37so we have a lot of flavors
03:38from different parts of Africa,
03:39from South Africa
03:40all the way up to North Africa.
03:42Different dishes
03:43with different spices,
03:44different flavors,
03:45very diverse continent.
03:46My favorite item
03:47is the curry goat.
03:48It's seasoned but in curry
03:49with jollof rice and plantain
03:51and musk fry for everybody.
03:52We also have peri wings
03:54with Africana signature sauce
03:56and chicken tenders.
03:57So a diverse range of items,
03:59but I think the curry goat
04:00for me is probably
04:01the most important.
04:03Meanwhile,
04:04soul fly chicken started
04:05as a food truck
04:06roaming around the streets
04:07of Miami in 2021.
04:09Since then,
04:10Chef Raul Cunningham says
04:11the love for fried chicken
04:13and southern cuisine
04:14has gone global.
04:16It's the way of the world.
04:18Again, fried chicken
04:19is comforting
04:20in many fashions.
04:21It's something that you would
04:22sit down and have
04:23as a family meal.
04:24It's something
04:25that's labor intensive.
04:26So now being able
04:27to offer it to people,
04:29you know,
04:30on the go,
04:31it's just,
04:32it's spreading the love.
04:33in the world.
04:35Soul Fly is also trying
04:36to change the image
04:37of fried chicken
04:38as an unhealthy meal,
04:39using a sound wave
04:40technology cooking method
04:42so patrons can enjoy
04:43the food without worrying
04:45about the weighing scale.
04:46We're using technology
04:48that allows our chicken
04:50to be 30% less calorie
04:52and 30% less fat.
04:54Oil.
04:55And the soul is the seasoning
04:58and the methods that we go
05:00into marinating
05:01and frying our chicken.
05:03That put my mind at ease
05:04as we sample Soul Fly
05:06Chicken's signature dishes,
05:07the juicy chicken tenders
05:09and the classic chicken sandwich
05:11to cap off the evening.
05:13As the saying goes,
05:14a full stomach makes
05:15for a happy heart
05:17and Soul Fly Chicken hopes
05:18to win enough hearts
05:20and taste buds in Qatar
05:22to come back for good.
05:23That's what the joy is about.
05:25In hopes, you know,
05:27in some time in the future
05:28that we can actually be based here
05:30where it's not something
05:32that you have to wait
05:33until we come to a food festival
05:34for something that you guys
05:36will be able to have year-round.
05:46From food that tantalizes
05:47the taste buds
05:48to another feast for the census,
05:50the Qatar Kite Festival.
05:52Yoana Hoos visits
05:53the old Doha port
05:54for a dazzling display
05:55of artistry in the air
05:57and on the ground.
06:01From animals
06:02to floating dao boats
06:03and even cartoon characters,
06:05Qatar's Kite Festival
06:06is a celebration
06:07of creativity and culture,
06:09dozens of meters up in the sky.
06:11More than 60 professional
06:13kite flyers
06:14from over 20 countries
06:15have traveled to Qatar,
06:16ready to loosen their strings
06:18and hopefully fly high.
06:20I'm from Germany,
06:23born in Hamburg
06:24and I love to fly kites
06:26since I was a very young boy,
06:27let's say 11 years old
06:29and until now
06:30I fly my kites all over the world.
06:33It's a sport, of course,
06:34having the skill of flying a kite,
06:36but we are all kite makers as well.
06:39So besides flying the kite,
06:41we make our kites ourselves
06:42and of course every kite flyer
06:44has special designs.
06:45so it's a mixture of art and sport.
06:50Kites of all shapes and sizes
06:52graze the skies
06:53above the old Doha port
06:54this festival.
06:55But for Wolfgang,
06:56the kites he loves most
06:58are those replicating animals
06:59in their natural habitats.
07:01Fish out of water,
07:02so to speak,
07:03swimming sky high.
07:05I have many kites.
07:06I have mostly,
07:07I like kites
07:08who fly in the air
07:09and do the shape
07:10like they be in their own
07:12water or air.
07:14So when they fly in the air,
07:16they look like they fly
07:17in their own natural environment.
07:18So I have a shark,
07:19I have many fish
07:20or a squid.
07:21So when they fly in the air,
07:22they look like they fly
07:23in their own water.
07:27As well as looking up,
07:29friends and families
07:30visiting the Qatar kite festival
07:31are also encouraged
07:32to look down
07:33as there is plenty to see
07:35here on the ground.
07:36The world-renowned
07:37French Swiss artist
07:38known as Sip
07:39has turned the grass
07:40in the old Doha port
07:41into a canvas
07:42for one of his signature
07:43giant artworks.
07:45An eco-friendly painting
07:46that is so big
07:47it's actually best seen
07:48from the sky.
07:50If I need to define myself
07:52as an artist,
07:53I would say
07:54that I make a bridge
07:55between land art
07:56and street art.
07:57I'm known to paint
07:58huge eco-friendly painting
08:01directly on nature.
08:02So that means
08:03that the painting
08:04is ephemeral
08:05and the materials
08:07that I use
08:08is very easy.
08:09It's like wood,
08:10charcoal and chalk
08:12and a casein
08:14which is a protein of milk
08:15that will make
08:16natural glue
08:17to fit the paint
08:18directly on the grass.
08:19Sip's art
08:20can last for days
08:21or months
08:22depending on the
08:23natural surface
08:24he paints on.
08:25In addition to
08:26old Doha port,
08:27he was also invited
08:28to spray the sands
08:29of Sea Line,
08:30the kite festival's
08:31second location.
08:32But whether it's
08:33the desert or the city,
08:34his art always
08:35has a special meaning.
08:36I try to spread messages
08:39of hope,
08:40of peace,
08:41of the different things
08:43that I have in mind
08:44all around the world.
08:45This is my idea.
08:46And in the desert
08:47I create two hands
08:49that create an origami camel.
08:51And for me
08:52it was like the travel
08:53of the caravan
08:54in the dunes.
08:56It was the beginning
08:57of a long travel
08:58to our dream,
09:00for example.
09:01so for me
09:02that matched with
09:03the spirit of the desert.
09:05And here
09:06these two hands
09:07that create an origami
09:08bird that's flying
09:10around the other kite.
09:12The bird could be
09:14like you know
09:15the peace bird as well.
09:16With the stunning
09:17eco-friendly art
09:18below visitors' feet
09:20and the colourful
09:21wind-fuel displays
09:22above their heads,
09:23organisers say
09:24that in addition
09:25to fun,
09:26the kite festival
09:27is all about
09:28sustainability.
09:29all our festivals
09:30we try to go
09:31with clean power.
09:32I don't think
09:33you can get cleaner
09:34than this.
09:35It's pure air
09:36that is lifting
09:38these kites.
09:39and even the art
09:43that the world-renowned
09:44artist,
09:45Saip,
09:46has done both
09:47in sea line
09:48and here
09:49is using
09:50biodegradable material
09:51and it's fantastic.
09:52It's nice, appealing
09:53to the eye
09:54and also eco-friendly.
09:57Especially this old port,
09:59it's amazing.
10:00We have the wind coming
10:01from the sea
10:02towards the shore
10:03every year.
10:04so this is perfect
10:05the wind is not turbulent
10:06and the place
10:07if you see down the lawn
10:08it's green
10:09and it's soft
10:10so we can fly our kites.
10:12We are temporary guests
10:13on our planet
10:14and it belongs to us
10:16to know
10:17what we will let
10:18as humans being
10:19traces on earth,
10:20you know.
10:21So for me
10:22this is something
10:23that I always think
10:25I create huge artwork
10:26that will disappear.
10:28Hopefully people
10:29will keep it in memories,
10:30you know,
10:31but I will let traces
10:33on nature
10:34and I love this concept
10:35that maybe
10:36I can let traces
10:37in memories
10:38but not on the planet.
10:39Saip's painting
10:40and the colourful kites
10:41greet visitors
10:42flying into
10:43Hamad International Airport
10:44before they even
10:45touch down.
10:46So whether it's
10:47art viewed
10:48from the sky
10:49or art floating
10:50in the sky
10:51the Qatar Kite Festival
10:52appeals to the senses
10:53from every perspective.
10:55This is our third edition
10:56of the Qatar Kite Festival.
10:58It's unique
10:59because it's
11:00it's a family-friendly atmosphere.
11:05People come
11:06and as you can see
11:07they are enjoying themselves.
11:09Young children
11:10to, you know,
11:11senior adults.
11:13So it's for everyone.
11:15Beautiful colours in the sky
11:18and beautiful kites.
11:20I think a picture
11:21is more than a thousand words
11:22and that is what
11:23we are seeing.
11:24Every day goes by
11:25our visitors are increasing.
11:27There is a steady growth
11:29until the last day
11:30of the festival.
11:31And this is what's
11:32keeping us going.
11:37From eating our hearts out
11:38and sampling
11:39some of the best street food
11:40from around the world
11:41to flying high
11:42with wacky kites
11:43of all shapes and sizes.
11:44We hope you've enjoyed this episode
11:46but that's all the time
11:47we have for now.
