00:00I just got out of surgery about an hour ago. Bindi Irwin is on the mend. After she was unable to make an annual event honoring her late father, Steve Irwin, due to a health emergency, the 26-year-old shares an update on her hospitalization, revealing that she is now in recovery after undergoing multiple procedures. She explains in an Instagram video,
00:20I just got out of surgery about an hour ago. I had my appendix removed. I also had 14 new endometriosis lesions that had to be removed, and they kindly stitched up my hernia as well.
00:41And she writes alongside the video,
00:43After many months of a grumbly appendix, I finally had to seek help the day of our Steve Irwin gala. My appendix was removed, along with another 14 lesions, after having 37 endometriosis lesions and a cyst removed two years ago.
00:57For reference, endometriosis, a condition the star has suffered from for over a decade, is a reproductive disease in which abnormal tissue grows outside the uterus, causing severe pain and sometimes infertility, according to World Health Organization.
01:10Bindi went on to assure followers that she has now entered the healing process of her treatment, and she also expressed her gratitude for her husband, Chandler Powell, and their 4-year-old daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, as well as her brother, Robert Irwin, who led the charge at the gala after she was unable to attend.
01:26She continued,
01:27Credit to Robert for hosting the evening. He did such an incredible job raising funds and awareness for wildlife warriors. And thanks to my family for always being there for me. I have so much love for dear Chandler and sweet Grace.
01:38And while she didn't specify how long the recovery process would be, Bindi did insist that she would be healthy enough to attend a different Steve Irwin gala in Brisbane, Australia later this year.
01:49She said,
01:49Rest assured, I'll see you at the next Steve Irwin gala in Brisbane this November. One day at a time. Time to heal now.
