During a press briefing on Monday, President Trump was asked about his administration's decision to accept White Afrikaner refugees from South Africa.
Transcript
00:00I want to ask you about South African refugees.
00:03Dozens of Afrikaners who claim discrimination in their home country
00:07are heading to the United States where your administration is going to welcome them as refugees.
00:12Now this comes as you've halted virtually all refugee admissions for people playing famine and war
00:17from countries like Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
00:21Why are you creating an expediting path into the country for Afrikaners but not others?
00:26Because they're being killed and we don't want to see people be killed.
00:31Now South Africa leadership is coming to see me I understand sometime next week
00:36and you know we're supposed to have a I guess a G20 meeting there or something
00:42but we're having a G20 meeting.
00:43I don't know how we can go unless that situation is taken care of
00:47but it's a genocide that's taking place that you people don't want to write about
00:50but it's a terrible thing that's taking place
00:53and farmers are being killed.
00:57They happen to be white
00:58but whether they're white or black makes no difference to me
01:02but white farmers are being brutally killed
01:06and their land is being confiscated in South Africa
01:09and the newspapers and the media, television media doesn't even talk about it.
01:14If it were the other way around they'd talk about it
01:16that would be the only story they'd talk about
01:18and I don't care who they are
01:20I don't care about their race, their color
01:23I don't care about their height, their weight
01:25I don't care about anything
01:26I just know that what's happening is terrible
01:28I have people that live in South Africa
01:31they say it's a terrible situation taking place
01:33so we've essentially extended citizenship to those people
01:37to escape from that violence and come here
01:41yeah
