I'm sick of women not being listened to.
00:02
My periods basically involved flooding,
00:05
which meant that I would also have to set an alarm through the night
00:09
to change my period products.
00:11
I'd sleep on a towel.
00:12
I was in so much pain that I would sometimes sleep on the floor
00:14
so that it would be painful that way
00:17
so I wouldn't have to think about the other pain.
00:20
I would pass out, I would vomit, I would have diarrhoea
00:23
and I would still be going to work.
00:25
I would wear two pairs of knickers
00:26
and I would always pack a spare pair of tights.
00:29
I'd never wear white on my bottom half.
00:31
And, you know, I am not uncommon.
00:36
And just because it's not uncommon doesn't mean it's normal.
00:38
But no one ever asked me or investigated why they're so heavy.
00:43
I was told, you'll grow out of it.
00:45
What nonsense.
00:46
It'll be better when you have a baby,
00:48
so I've got to have a baby to stop being in pain.
00:51
And then when it was finally diagnosed,
00:53
and everyone says, oh, weren't you relieved?
00:56
Well, yeah, I can put a name to it.
00:58
But there's no cure.
