'Pass Me The Sick Bucket Please': John Kennedy Questions FBI's Kash Patel About Peter Strzok & Lisa Page

At Thursday's Senate Approrpiations Committee hearing, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) questioned FBI Dir. Kash Patel about Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

00:06You remember Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, don't you?

00:11Mr. Strzok worked for the FBI.

00:13Ms. Page, I mean, I'm sorry, Mr. Strzok worked for the FBI.

00:17I think Ms. Page worked for justice.

00:20The Inspector General found in its investigation that they hated President Trump

00:27and they really wanted Secretary Clinton to win.

00:31Is that true?

00:32That's correct, sir.

00:34And this would be the same Ms. Page who sent an email to Mr. Strzok

00:44with whom she was having an affair.

00:46Trump's not ever going to become president, right?

00:49Right.

00:50And Mr. Strzok, with the FBI, senior official at the FBI replied,

00:56quote, no, no, he won't.

00:58We'll stop it.

01:03Now, Ms. Page got quit before she could get fired.

01:09Mr. Strzok was fired.

01:13And predictably, they filed a lawsuit.

01:16Because in Washington, it's easier to divorce your spouse

01:21than it is to fire a federal employee.

01:27Why did the FBI give Mr. Strzok $1.2 million

01:32and Ms. Page $800,000 to settle a lawsuit?

01:39Senator, I do not know that settlement was reached

01:41in the prior administration.

01:42Who made the decision?

01:44The prior Department of Justice.

01:46Who in the prior Department of Justice?

01:48The settlement for that kind of case can only come

01:50from the Attorney General, which would be

01:52Attorney General Merrick Garland.

01:53So the Attorney General decided to give Mr. Strzok $1.2 million

01:57and Ms. Page $800,000 after they were fired,

02:03after actively interfering in the 2016 election.

02:07Is that right?

02:08My understanding is that was a settlement they agreed to.
