00:00In that moment, did you feel a little bit threatened when he was like,

00:02I've got pals in England, they told me you were on Strictly,

00:05they told me you were a gen... Like, what was that feeling in that moment?

00:08That was strange. There's a guy called Charles Thompson,

00:10who's a double murderer, and I went to see him in Death Row in Texas,

00:14and I sat down, I picked up the phone behind the glass,

00:17as you've seen in films and TV, and I said,

00:19Hi, Charles, I'm Dan Walker, and he said, Oh, yeah, I know all about you.

00:22And I was like, I tried not to react, you know what I mean?

00:25I think, Stay strong! And then he told me that he knew about,

00:28like you say, he knew about Strictly, he knew about previous jobs I'd had,

00:31he knew where I'd worked, and this is all through pen pals

00:33that he still speaks to in the UK,

00:36because he's only allowed out of his cell for two hours a week, that's it.
