00:14But don't stress, according to Christy Kim, CEO and founder of lender Tomo Credit, having

00:19your credit card denied isn't something to be embarrassed or ashamed about, it happens

00:23to the best of us.

00:25Bankrate says some common reasons a credit card may be declined include hitting your

00:29credit limit, triggering fraud protection, traveling internationally without notifying

00:33the bank, falling behind on payments, entering incorrect information, or using an expired

00:38card.

00:39To avoid these issues, monitor your account closely, know your card's expiration date, and notify

00:44your credit card company of international travel plans.

00:47As Melinda Opperman from Credit.org suggests, signing up for automated reminders and alerts

00:52can help prevent your card from being declined.
