00:00Sometimes, we expect God to speak in dramatic ways, like a loud, booming voice from heaven.
00:07But more often than not, God speaks in a whisper.
00:111 Kings 19 tells us about the prophet Elijah.
00:15He was desperate to hear from God, and he witnessed a powerful wind, an earthquake, and a fire.
00:21But God wasn't in any of those.
00:23Then came a gentle whisper, and that's where God was.
00:27Why does God whisper?
00:29Because a whisper requires closeness.
00:32God doesn't want to shout at us from a distance.
00:35He wants us to draw near, to be still enough to recognize his voice.
00:40But beyond scripture and prayer, God also speaks through our circumstances.
00:45Have you ever gone through something and later realized that God was guiding you the whole time?
00:51Maybe he closed the door you desperately wanted open.
00:54Maybe he allowed a delay that, in hindsight, was actually his protection.
01:00Romans 8 verse 28 reminds us that in all things God works for good of those who love him.
