00:01Je m'appelle Francesca Masoero.
00:24en Morocco surtout.
00:25C'est comme la collaboration avec Nicolas Baratto
00:28et landscape first emerged.
00:30The short use of Fog has evolved
00:32from this conversation with and around Nicolas's work first
00:36into group exhibitions and a collective ensemble
00:39that gathers works from six other artists,
00:44Khalid Boualam, Raymond Jemayel, Yasmin Benabdallah,
00:48Rimejdi, Fahmy Shaheen,
00:51and the not-to-be-published research group
00:54which is composed of Hiba and Aman Alamara,
00:58Aruwa, Aburawa, and Mohamed.
01:02The choice of opening the exhibition
01:04from a solo one to a collective ensemble
01:08which also came from conversations
01:11with Lauren Eligli, curator of Arvours Festival,
01:17was really a choice of bringing in voices of artists
01:22and research from across a diversity of geographies
01:26in Morocco and elsewhere
01:28that looked into waterscapes and landscapes
01:31and proposed gestures of repairs
01:34and way of belonging and living with land in other ways
01:40just as much as Nicolas's work is somewhat doing in Cdifni.
01:45My name is Leonardo Rubolo.
01:47I'm a curator and lawyer
01:49and I'm also the founder of Landscape,
01:51that is a curatorial platform based in Sicily,
01:54mid central Mediterranean since 2015.
01:57Over the years we evolved in an ecosystem of people and projects
02:02working on the edge of performing arts and visual arts
02:05with a range of practice, time-based and research-based.
02:09Tears of Fog, the exhibition and its display
02:12as a curatorial perspective is conceived as a network
02:16of digital and analogue relations
02:18where Fog takes the stage and fills the space
02:21trying to promote a kind of reunification
02:24between human and non-human agents.
02:27I'm Nicola Baratto, an artist working with an idea
02:30I call Archeodreaming.
02:31I mix field research, archive research and dream journaling
02:34to explore questions around materiality, dreaming and mysticism.
02:38Tears of Fog is a research universe
02:40that I composed in collaboration with Darcy Hammad Foundation,
02:43a foundation from Cdifni that developed a project
02:46of Fog harvesting, Fog collection,
02:49to make and provide water to desertified areas
02:52in the Antiatos Mountains in the south of Morocco.
02:54I composed the video installation as a portal of light
02:57and scenographed in collaboration with Alia Belxir
03:00from Chianghel
03:01and a series of analogue prints and photographs
03:04that explore fog and portrays fog as a threshold space
03:08between terrestrial and cosmic forces
03:11and a glass vase that condenses sand and fire into a tear of fog.
03:16And I'll see you next time.
03:17I'll see you next time.
