Nando's Meteor Retail Park Derby review

00:00So I'm at Nando's in Derby. It's the brand new Meteor Centre opening and I'm

00:06here on Monday the 8th April the 28th but it opens on Wednesday. Now I'm trying

00:12the Cheesy Chickle Burger. More on the actual lovely interiors in a moment but

00:18for now I'm having the Cheesy Chickle Burger. Now that is a grilled chicken

00:22breast and covered in melted cheddar with garlic mayonnaise, pearly ketchup,

00:27lettuce and new Herby Pickles. It's a Herby Burger and when I open it the the

00:35top is over the sauce and it's yes, I can't wait to dive in. Okay here goes guys.

00:48So I've had the Cheesy Chickle Burger from Nando's at the new Meteor Centre.

00:57It's a branch and what I liked about it, what I loved about it actually was a

01:01drenrenrense size and the tangy pecan pickle. Now I had the hot sauce in there, that was

01:08really hot and I really enjoyed it because you know when you're on the verge of

01:12coming out with a cold and you want something like fiery to blow your roof off,

01:15that's what happened and I really enjoyed it. What I liked about the burger as well is

01:21the chicken was nice and succulent and I demolished it in like 10 minutes. Really nice.

01:29So then as a dessert I'm going for the mango gelato. Now this is plant friendly so I think it's more,

01:38you can see the texture. I just want to do this, can you see it's like really easily scoopable so I

01:46think it's going to be more like mango sorbet, hang on.

01:49This is a lovely light refreshing palette, sort of palette cleanser.

02:00It brings a taste of the tropics to sunny old Derby.

02:12Drinks, I have the organic ginger ale by Karma drinks. Now with Nando's, what I love about Nando's is,

02:21it's fast food but it feels like it's bordering on the verge of like sit down, restaurant territory.

02:32A couple of new items on the menu, apart from the cheesy chickle burger, was the extra saucy wings.

02:41Now I'm not a big chicken wing fan but I can imagine this to be a big hit with people who do

02:46love to get chicken and enjoy their chicken wings. Other new items on the menu is the cheesy garlic

02:52pitta. I've got my eye on that for next time. But yeah overall I've had a really lovely experience

02:59dining at the Derby Nando's. I'm just going to do a quick walk through just so you know what to

03:07expect when the restaurant opens on the Wednesday.

03:16So it's African inspired artwork adorning the walls. It's a large restaurant. I think it's probably

03:24bigger I think, cover wise, in comparison to the Wally Marketplace and in the Derby Centre as well.

03:38So towards the back we've got the self-serving machines. What I'm really excited about is this

03:46bottomless peach iced tea. I might try that for next time.

03:57So there's a mixture of seating from leather booths through wooden chairs.

04:06So outside the Derby Meteor Centre Nando's there is a lovely, really, really, really cute

04:14Al fresco area which is here. So that means you can potentially and because they serve beer as well

04:21this could double up as a really, really quaint one of Derby's hottest beer gardens maybe.

04:30So yes overall I've just had dined at the Nando's restaurant. It opens on the 30th of April

04:36and I had a sneak peek a couple of days beforehand. But yeah overall it's been a lovely experience

04:43and I've enjoyed warm hospitality and lovely food and I'd recommend you visiting.
