00:00Welcome to Finance Learning.
00:03The very first official Silver Report for 2025 has just been published.
00:09And he makes the worst fears official.
00:12Industrial demand for silver was significantly higher than expected in 2024.
00:17This results in a record silver deficit for the fourth time in a row.
00:21And this will lead to us reaching the highest silver price since 2012 in 2024.
00:26And that's not even all.
00:28Rent production is significantly below expectations.
00:31Global silver demand was 1.21 billion ounces in 2024.
00:36And industrial demand exceeded the 700 million ounces per year mark for the first time.
00:42So welcome back to Thesaurus.
00:44In this video I will introduce you to the Silver Report in more detail.
00:48And address all the facts contained therein.
00:51I will also give you an overview of what this could mean for the silver price and your investment opportunities in the long term.
00:56Before we begin, I must give you a legal notice that this video is neither investment advice nor a recommendation for action.
01:04What I present to you is only my personal opinion based on my research.
01:09However, you are welcome to leave me a free subscription to help me reach my goal of 10,000 subscribers by the end of the year.
01:16Thank you!
01:16Before we talk about the results of the Silver Report, I would first like to introduce you to what this report actually is and who published it.
01:26The report is published by the official Institute for Silver.
01:30The exciting thing about it is that it is a non-profit organization.
01:34This means that there is no profit motive behind the publications.
01:37The organization also brings together expert knowledge in every area of silver production and use.
01:44The institute's staff includes leading silver mining companies, refineries, precious metal suppliers, manufacturers of silver products and wholesalers of silver investment products.
01:54The institute aims to increase general understanding and knowledge of and about silver.
02:00A short comment on my own behalf.
02:02I noticed that very few of you have subscribed.
02:05If you've watched the video up to this point, please subscribe for free.
02:09Or write me in the comments what's stopping you.
02:12So you see, this is really a reputable source and the results should definitely be taken seriously.
02:17I've also included a link to it in the video description for you to read.
02:21Now that you know where the information comes from and that it can be trusted, let's take a closer look at this information.
02:27We will cover four main topics in this video.
02:30First, let’s take a look at the supply and demand of silver.
02:34I will also explain why this is problematic.
02:37Then we will talk about the difference between physical investing and investing via ETPs and how the corresponding demand has developed.
02:44And last but not least, I offer you a general classification.
02:47Let's go!
02:48Let's start with supply and demand.
02:52I will start by asking.
02:54I think it will come as no surprise that demand for silver has increased dramatically in recent years.
02:59Silver is simply becoming more and more popular and more and more important for our everyday lives.
03:03But more on that later.
03:05You can see exactly how silver demand has developed here.
03:08Really extreme numbers.
03:10In 2023 alone, 1.4 billion ounces of silver were in demand.
03:16This is hard to believe.
03:18To help you visualize it, 1.4 billion ounces equals 43,540 tons.
03:24That is the weight of 10,000 elephants or 36,000 small paths.
03:31And that was in the last year alone.
03:32And the trend is increasing sharply, as you can see.
03:35In the last 5 years alone, demand for 5.5 billion ounces has been recorded.
03:40That's equivalent to the weight of 43,000 elephants.
03:44This clearly shows how enormous the demand is.
03:47But the topic becomes even more exciting when you consider what the silver is used for.
03:52It is an integral part of all our lives.
03:56You could even call it vital.
03:58And this is regardless of whether we invest in the metal ourselves or not.
04:02But let me explain.
04:04To do this, you have to look at which areas are particularly high in demand.
04:08Here you can see the demand broken down by area.
04:10Do you see the crux of the matter?
04:11That's right, the absolute lion's share of silver demand comes from industry.
04:16Silver is an optimal electronic conductor and is also very malleable and flexible.
04:21It is now used in almost every device we use in our everyday lives.
04:26From the mobile phone we all own, to the computers we use, the cars we drive, and the solar panels we use to generate electricity.
04:33Nowadays, silver is an essential part of any of these devices.
04:36So we all use silver, whether consciously or subconsciously.
04:40And currently there are no alternatives for the industry.
04:43The already very high demand will therefore continue to rise sharply.
04:47Let us now look at the relevant figures from the silver report.
04:50Industry demand remained unmatched in 2024.
04:54It even rose again by 7%, thus exceeding the 700 million ounce mark.
05:01A high percentage increase.
05:03And this despite the fact that there was already a lot of demand for 2023.
05:07The increase is quite easy to explain.
05:09It is mainly due to two factors.
05:12The green sector, especially solar energy and the automotive sector.
05:16Both recorded a strong increase.
05:19In principle, however, there is an increase in every area.
05:22In addition, there were some innovative inventions and new practices in 2024 that also rely on silver.
05:30The Silver Report mentions, for example, the fight against cancer.
05:33According to this study, physicists from the Netherlands have succeeded in developing a new method for destroying cancer cells.
05:39It uses a package of silver and DNA to destroy the cancer cells without damaging surrounding cells.
05:47This could represent a significant advance in cancer treatment, as conventional chemotherapy and radiation protocols often attack healthy cells.
05:54The two researchers, Donny De Bruhn and Dirk Bormester, wrapped a single strand of DNA with silver atoms, which passed through the body without harming the patient.
06:03This package is so small that it can safely penetrate the body's cells without causing damage.
06:08Once it reaches the target site, the silver is activated with light.
06:12This triggers a so-called toxicity injection.
06:15This stops the normal DNA processes in the affected cell, preventing cell division.
06:19The body then disposes of the damaged cell, De Bruhn explained in a prepared statement.
06:25In addition, silver is becoming increasingly important for anti-counterfeiting technology.
06:29In addition, research is currently being conducted into how the addition of nanosilver increases the nutritional value of potatoes and at the same time protects the plants from diseases.
06:37So you see, there are truly fascinating uses for silver that hardly anyone is aware of today.
06:43But all this will only lead to more and more demand for silver.
06:46However, supply will not be able to meet this demand.
06:49Instead of the recent years, a high silver deficit arose.
06:52More on this later when we talk about silver mining production.
06:56But one thing at a time.
06:57Let us first ask ourselves a general question.
06:59What about the offer?
07:00Can this meet the high demand?
07:03The frightening truth is, no, it can't.
07:06Not even in the slightest.
07:08Just look at this table.
07:10It breaks down supply and demand very precisely.
07:13You can see that in recent years there has been an incredible deficit of silver.
07:18This means that supply could not meet demand.
07:22Or rather, less silver was mined than consumed.
07:25That's shocking.
07:27Above all, it must be noted that this cannot continue for much longer.
07:30Experts estimate that we have already extracted about 85% of the recoverable silver.
07:36This means that the vast majority of all silver deposits have been developed.
07:40So less and less silver is being mined.
07:42This is also illustrated by the fact that silver is hardly mined or can hardly be mined as a main product today.
07:49Silver is the main product in only 30% of all silver mining.
07:53Conversely, this means that 70% of silver already comes from mining projects that have other metals as their primary target.
08:00But that’s not all.
08:01If we assume that the experts are right, the globally mineable silver reserves are likely to last only for another 19 years.
08:09These are frightening numbers.
08:12Especially when you consider that this bill is still based on current demand.
08:16I have already shown you that this will increase massively in the next few years.
08:20This becomes even more frightening in connection with the silver report.
08:24More specifically, with the silver production figures published there.
08:26Mine Supply Director Sarah Tomilson stated that even in the best-case scenario, silver production could only be increased by 1%.
08:37You don't have to be a genius to realize the problem.
08:40There was already a silver deficit last year.
08:43Demand is conservatively estimated to be 8-12% higher.
08:47However, in the best case scenario, supply can only be increased by 1%.
08:51Accordingly, the deficit is getting bigger and bigger and the supply of silver is getting scarcer.
08:55However, we haven’t even touched on the tip of the iceberg yet.
08:59Point number 3.
09:00The big bubble surrounding electronically traded silver.
09:04Let’s start with the official figures from the silver report.
09:07The demand for electronically traded silver via so-called ETPs is increasing dramatically again.
09:13In comparison, private investors invest less in physical products.
09:17So there is a shift taking place.
09:20However, this is extremely dangerous.
09:22Especially since there are no legal regulations regarding how much silver must be deposited.
09:27Unfortunately, the whole thing is being exploited mercilessly.
09:30For every physically deposited ounce of silver, there are 500-600 electronically traded ounces.
09:36This is an enormous bubble.
09:38It would be like buying a luxury watch, but instead of the watch you get a piece of paper that says watch.
09:43600 other people receive the same slip for the same watch.
09:47But everyone pays full price.
09:50Would you consider that good or fair?
09:52If you want to learn more about the dangerous difference between paper silver and real silver,
09:57you should definitely stop by here.
09:58After reading the silver report, one thing was very clear to me.
10:02The silver deficit will continue to grow.
10:05Supply cannot even begin to meet demand.
10:08But for industry, and thus the largest and most important part of demand, there is currently no alternative.
10:14Personally, I believe this will be reflected in the price in 2025.
10:19So I will be diligent in buying silver.
10:21In this video you can see which special coins I am betting on in 2025 and why I am purchasing them.
