00:00Did you know that an octopus has three hearts, and two of them stop beating when it swims?
00:06See, all of the blood vessels in an octopus's body are connected to its central nervous system.
00:12So when it swims, the movement of the water around its arms sends signals to its brain.
00:19And because octopuses have three hearts, two of them stop beating so that the octopus can conserve energy while swimming.
00:27But wait, there's more.
00:29Octopuses can also change the color and texture of their skin to match their surroundings.
00:35And they do this by controlling the amount of pigment in their skin cells.
00:39When they want to be camouflaged, they release pigment into their skin cells, making them darker.
00:46But when they want to be lighter, they absorb the pigment back into their bodies.
00:51Isn't nature amazing?
00:53There are so many incredible animals out there that we just can't wrap our minds around.
