00:00Good morning. The last day of April promises to be another bobby dazzler, if you like blue skies and plenty of warm sunshine.
00:08The big question, just how warm will it get? Now, it isn't warm and sunny everywhere.
00:12There's a little bit of mist at early doors. That'll clear pretty rapidly.
00:15And again, the Northern Isles, the Western Isles will see a bit more cloud at times,
00:19maybe even the odd shower perhaps popping up across Caithness as well.
00:22And maybe later, some cloud bubbling up to generate a very isolated shower over the west of Northern Ireland.
00:28But for the vast majority, it is a blue sky kind of day.
00:32It's a warm start in places and it certainly will be a very warm afternoon.
00:36Temperatures higher than yesterday, widely over 20 degrees for Scotland, Northern Ireland,
00:41widely into the mid-20s for England and Wales, particularly inland.
00:44A little cooler on some eastern coasts, but from London through to Bristol, Cardiff, 25, 26 degrees,
00:52perhaps even 27 or 28 in one or two locations.
00:54And that warmth also across the West Midlands and into eastern parts of Wales
00:59and maybe up into parts of Yorkshire, temperatures 25 or 26 degrees Celsius.
01:03And a very warm for the last day of April.
01:06Now, there'll be another warm day across the south on Thursday.
01:10But further north, we will start to see a change.
01:13Through this evening and overnight, thickening cloud in the northwest.
01:15A little bit of light rain and drizzle here and there.
01:17And we'll see that rain maybe pepping up over the highlands, the Western Isles and the Northern Isles through the early hours.
01:24But for most places, it's another dry night.
01:26The skies remain clear.
01:28The winds will remain light.
01:30Still a bit of a breeze along parts of the south coast.
01:33Temperatures will again dip away down to single figures across parts of the east, central and eastern Scotland, eastern England.
01:40But further west, again, it could be a very warm night for parts of west and north Wales.
01:46Temperatures may stay up in the mid-teens.
01:49Thursday, then, is another warm and sunny day for the south.
01:52But a very different day tomorrow for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
01:55Much more cloud around.
01:56Some light rain and drizzle as a band of light rain pushes south.
02:00It might actually pep up and turn into some heavier showers through the afternoon across the far south of Scotland.
02:05Small chance into northern England by the end of the afternoon as well.
02:09One or two scattered showers in the northwest as the winds start to come in more from the west here.
02:13And there's the small chance of an isolated shower over England and Wales as well.
02:17But generally, for England and Wales, it's another fine and sunny day and likely to see the peak of the temperatures on Thursday.
02:25Well, we're going to get up to 27, 28, perhaps 29 degrees Celsius.
02:30Couldn't completely rule out 30 degrees, in fact.
02:32So a very warm day for the 1st of May across England and Wales.
02:35But it will be a cooler day for Scotland and Northern Ireland as that band of thicker cloud and light rain pushes its way southwest.
02:43In fact, we can take a look at how those temperatures will change.
02:46These are Thursday's temperatures compared to Wednesday's temperatures.
02:50So you can see quite a big drop for Scotland and Northern Ireland, whereas much of England and Wales will have similar temperatures.
02:55If anything, a little warmer in and around London and a little bit warmer, too, on some of those North Sea coasts.
03:00But turning cooler across the north and generally turning a bit cooler for all of us as we head into the weekend.
03:06For more on that, why not catch Aidan's deep dive from yesterday?
03:10That is available on our YouTube channel.
