00:03Diese Welt-Class-Renäunen Soloisten,
00:06mit zwei symphony orchestras,
00:09fünf oder sechs differente conductors
00:11aus verschiedenen Ländern ...
00:13ist nicht einfach,
00:15aber es ist sehr wichtig für den Klassikal-Musik-Business
00:18und für den Klassikal-Musik-Sektor.
00:21Ich glaube, das ist die Hauptein.
00:23Nur in zwei Wochen,
00:25diese fantastische Star-Tagentur,
00:28Sharing music with the audience, with the musicians, with the staff.
00:32That's impressive.
00:37The 14th Annual Edition of In Classica International Music Festival
00:41returned to Dubai with some musical masterpieces.
00:45The two-week programme forms the world's biggest classical music observatory,
00:49bringing together some of the most established musicians
00:52and exciting new talent from around the globe.
00:54I think what they're trying to do is really quite remarkable
00:59and particularly in this day and age where we need music
01:04to somehow bring some sanity to this world
01:08and it's lovely to see the audience growing
01:13and to see more and more local people attend to hear music
01:19which I suppose to a certain extent is a little bit foreign to them
01:23in terms of culture.
01:26But, you know, as we know, music is a universal language
01:30and I think we somehow communicate.
01:34This year's festival was dedicated to composer-in-residence Alexi Shaw,
01:39whose 55th birthday was celebrated throughout the festival programming.
01:44His music has had a defining presence in recent years here at In Classica.
01:48I need particular sources of inspiration to write music.
01:58I just love writing music
02:00and pretty much any emotions,
02:04even like pretty mundane day-to-day things
02:07can trigger some musical thoughts.
02:11But if you mean like musically,
02:15then of course my inspiration comes from the works of the greats
02:18and I just try to sort of speak in my own voice
02:25but in the framework created by them.
02:27It's one of the greatest pleasures of listening to music live
02:33because the interpretations are also different
02:37and different performers find little nuances that I wasn't aware of
02:44and it's truly wonderful for me.
02:51Highlights from the 16 concerts included a performance
02:54by Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich,
02:57a prodigious talent who gave his first live concert at just nine years old.
03:02When you're on stage, it's in some ways a declaration of truth
03:10and if you don't have this truth inside you on stage,
03:16then I feel the audience will feel it
03:18and if the performer doesn't have this full declaration of love,
03:24the audience won't feel the love for the music
03:26and they won't in some ways get hypnotized by it
03:29as I believe true music can
03:33and true music is not entertainment.
03:37For me, it's a revelation.
03:40It's something that connects us
03:43to a deeper understanding of our soul,
03:47our meaning of having a heart
03:51and for the composers to create great music,
03:56they had to really sacrifice themselves fully.
03:59And it's not all about the musicians at In Classica.
04:02The audience are very much at the heart
04:04of this world-renowned festival.
04:06Of course, you're trying to give 100% of yourself
04:10but at the same time, you need the energy of the musicians,
04:13you need the energy of the audience too.
04:15If they are shy, you would love to convince them
04:18about what you're playing is a very nice music.
04:21If they are so enthusiastic, maybe they need an anchor or two.
04:25So I'm trying to play with the elements I find every day.
04:31So I try to just achieve great things
04:37with the elements I have.
04:39From Beethoven to Bach and beyond to Alexi Shaw,
04:42the legacy of In Classica continues to evolve
04:45and grow each year along with its programming and audiences.
