00:30And over 200,000 specialists, Uzbekistan's tech and ICT industries are developing fast.
00:38Total revenues reached 4.1 billion euros last year, with services now exported to around 90 countries.
00:47We've been to meet some of the businesses making it happen.
00:51From animated children's shows to big movies,
00:56all this has been created by UnitedSoft,
01:00a company specialising in visual effects and computer-generated imagery.
01:06Based in Tashkent, some of its content has made it all the way to Bollywood.
01:11You see the growth of the company in terms of not just the number of the teammates that I have,
01:17but also the amount of projects and the scale of the projects that we're working on is, of course, really exciting.
01:24Our plan is to start working on the more bigger scale projects such as Hollywood.
01:29UnitedSoft is a member of IT Park, which runs an ecosystem of support to develop business.
01:38With branches across Uzbekistan and representation abroad,
01:42it helps to create jobs for tech-savvy young workers
01:46and attract foreign companies, which already make up over 600 of its members.
01:53We provide tax and custom benefits.
01:56We also have visa benefits for them.
01:59We have big access to the talent pool.
02:02For example, in our country, we have 21 million working-age professionals,
02:06including 5 million English-speaking specialists.
02:09And we also have the programmes for the local companies to expand their businesses internationally.
02:14We also provide incubation and acceleration programmes for start-ups.
02:21TaskVision, another IT Park member,
02:24deploys artificial intelligence and cloud-based technologies
02:28to analyse customers in retail stores,
02:32providing insights to drive up profits.
02:36Shaxod started the company when he was just 19
02:39and is now operating in seven countries.
02:43We connect with the store's existing CCTV cameras
02:46and we provide our own AI camera
02:49and we collect customer data and goods data in real time.
02:53We are giving just data about the demographics and age gender
02:56and also how many customers are coming in
02:59and in what zone they are spending time,
03:02what they are looking for
03:03and what about the touch points between goods and human.
03:07We are witnessing significant changes in public services and e-government in Uzbekistan.
03:23For example, MightyPalm, our system for recognising your veins in your hand,
03:29we use it in the public transport, like in the metro,
03:32but we can use it in retail.
03:33It's more efficient and more secure.
03:37The growth of Uzbekistan's tech and ICT sectors is future-proofing its economy
03:43and positioning the country as a leading innovation hub in Central Asia.
03:48Let's get more now from Shazod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies, who's in Tashkent.
03:59So, Minister, why all this growth then in tech and ICT?
04:03It's because we had the bold vision of our president to make Uzbekistan an IT hub,
04:07which is creating the job opportunities, highly paid job opportunities for our use.
04:12And Uzbekistan had a young and growing population
04:14and we need to create the jobs within Uzbekistan.
04:18And how is this then driving sustainable growth in the country?
04:21Uzbekistan used to be mostly an agrarian country
04:24and we are now trying to focus more on new service sectors growth
04:30and we had the highest growth rates in the ICT-related services, in fintech
04:35and in all these new start-ups areas.
04:38So, this is an enabling growing field for our young talents
04:43to grow their ideas to make future successful start-ups.
